How do I put in a room request ..... leaving in 32 days.

We will be at POR in 32 days, when should I put in a room request? How does one go about putting in a room request? I'm not real picky just would like a room with a trundle bed , since there is 5 in our party (so AB I guess ) and one that is near a smoking section since my mother who is going with us smokes and I don't want her to have to go far every time she needs to smoke. As far as any thing else I'm pretty much open, I know we are in for a week walking so as for being close to the food court or bus stops , it's really low on my list.

we booked through AAA a couple of months ago and just yesterday we sent an email to our AAA TA with our room preferences. She added them directly to our reservation and said it would not be necessary to fax or call WDW directly, so if you used AAA or another TA call them and ask them to do it. If you booked on your own i would call CRO and ask them to add it to your reservation now.

some threads i have read made it seem like faxing is now discouraged or possibly less effective, so having the request added directly to the reservation seems like the way to go.

All you need to do is call up Disney reservations and tell them you have some room requests that you would like to add on to your reservation.

If you booked your trip through AAA or a TA then just give them a call and they will call Disney for you and add the requests.

Sooner is better than later as the reservation gets sent to the hotel at least 4 days before your arrival and they assign the room at that point. So make sure to get those requests in ASAP.

Don't they HAVE to put you in a room with a trundle if you have 5 in your party?

We also booked with AAA but faxed a room request anyway. Just look up the hotel fax # and address it to the room assignor. I'll let you know if it works, we leave in the morning.
