How do I order a belt?

I am trying to order a belt for DD online. The sizes say they go up to 40. Her belt at home measures 43". I know she doesn't have a 43" waist, but how in the heck do I order a belt? DH wears a size 36 waist pant, and I KNOW DD is way smaller than he is. Is there something I am missing?

It's not the length of her belt, it's the circumference of her waist. Just grab a measuring tape and wrap it around her waist at about navel height, unless she wears hip-huggers, then measure around the top of that type of pant.

Men's belts are sized by waist size as they are meant to sit at the waist. Women's belts for trousers or jeans usually sit below their waist. Also, the belt measurement is usually roughly from the buckel to the middle hole (where the belt should fasten, if it fits properly), not the tip.

I have a 26 inch natural waist, 28 inch low waist and usually go with a 30 or 32 depending where I want the belt to sit.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I ordered the right size, and I have free return shipping if I need to return it.
