How do I lose belly fat?

I'm sure that this question has been asked hundreds of times, but how do you lose the belly fat? I confess that I love carbs, and I have been working out for five months and have seen little results in that area. Are the carbs the culprit? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!
 
well i'm still working on this too but I do think pilates helps quite a bit -- and I know you don't want to hear this but -- cardio workouts are key
 
I've been doing the FIRM Ab Sculpt for a couple of months and I've noticed a difference in my stomach and in the way my pants/shorts fit me. The days I do my WATP, I also try to do sit ups. I think ab exercises and cardio exercise will be a big help. I have tried pilates but I'm not too coordinated. ohMom, which pilates tape/dvd do you use or do you go to a class? try a exercise ball for crunches they are killer on abs. You would be sore for a few days the first couple of times though.

Well here is the bad news..............you can't spot reduce belly fat. This means that all the sits ups, crunches etc will not reduce the fat on this part of your body.

What does work...........whatching what you eat. Lowering your calories is what removes the fat. Cardio also helps you burn fat. Make sure what you eat is as clean as possible, so in some ways yep the carbs can hurt you. For that matter so can anything that you eat too much of. Try cutting out the processed carbs like sugar and white flour.

Does this mean that doing Ab work doesn't work..........nope, it helps tremendously. It gets those ab muscles nice and hard so that when you do loose the belly fat all the muscles will be looking fabulous and you will finally have the belly you want.

Unfortunately for most of us the stomach is the first place we put on weight. What they say is first on is last off. This means more than likely your belly fat.
 
Well, I might be in a minority here, but for me, losing the carbs/sugar/soda totally flattened my tummy.

I have been this weight before on WW, and had a much larger tummy, but this time, it is pretty flat and I have lost a lot of weight in my stomach. Might just be a coincidence, but you never know!
