How do I know what's coming?

This is our first trip to Disney World in 25 years so it's just my wife and I. We are truly looking forward to it a lot. We'll be staying at FW in our 5th wheel and I've learned a lot from this board.

I bought my package last fall when it was called the "silver package with dining". I'm not sure what that equates to now but since I paid for the whole thing in advance I have not heard anything from Disney about how it all works. So I have a few questions that maybe you can help with.....

  1. Will I get an explanation of how the package works? For example, I know that I can use "wishes" for other than dining but how do I know what is available?
  2. We are going to be at FW for two full weeks but only bought park passes (parkhopper) for 9 days. Does it matter which days I use the passes for?
  3. If we buy souvenirs do we need to cart them around with us or are there places to store them? Does Disney deliver anything to the campground for you?
  4. We were thinking of trying to rent one of the party barges for an Illuminations cruise and would be willing to share it but don't know how to go about doing it. Help!

Generally they will ex[plain everything to you at check in, but to get a jump on things I would suggest calling back to WDW travel and asking some questions now. There have been many variations on packages, so they will need to explain exactly what is involved.

Any 9 days you choose should be OK.

Any Disney store will deliever to FW for you. Packages are delivered to the Meadows Trading post the day after purchase, so don't have anything shipped back to FW the last couple days of your trip.

The easy part is reservicnt the boat. Just call 407-WDW-PLAY and explain that you want an illuminations cruise. Being there for two weeks should give you a great chance to get one. The hard part will be finding someone to share and split the costs. Several boards like this one have forums for putting folks together, but just remember your new "partner" may be a no show.

To try and find an Illuminations cruise to share, go to the Theme Park and Strategies board. There is a thread devoted to this subject stuck at the top.
Good Luck! :sunny:
