Ive searched all the sites I can find and even asked for a specific recipe on the Recipe Board here but Im having no luck. I think I remember someone posting once and address or maybe an email addres to write to to request recipes from any WDW restaurants. Does anyone happen to know what that was?
Thanks! :D

Thanks! :D
Unfotunately I had tried those with no luck. Im looking for the mashed potatoes from Yachtsman Steakhouse. I thought someone had posted a way to get recipes directly from Disney, but of course I cant find it or remember it now.

If you contact the restaurant directly, they will be happy to accommodate you. Usually they will even email it.

Why not send Deb Wills at allearsnet.com an email stating you'd like this recipe? She finds ways to get them from Disney and I think that's what happened and how she got the latest one (I cannot remember what it was though), lots of requests for it.

I've had more success when contacting specific restaurants, like Boma, than WDW in general. However, I know others have gotten recipes by simply requesting it through the WDW Web site.

I have that recipe...I'll try to find it and post it.

It was basically mashed yukon golds with roasted garlic added.

Thanks everyone! Maybe thats what I had heard...to just contact them directly.
That would be great if you could find it Anne. Thanks so much! I dont usually make potoates as they arent one of my favorites, but those ones at YSH were absolutely delicious! :D

I know my website doesn't have this recipe. I looked through my other files and found this but no restaurant is listed. YSH had two types of potatoes listed, Yukon Gold and Garlic Mashed, on their menu. Maybe Anne can either confirm this as the recipe or has another one.

One other suggestion is to contact the Orlando Sentinal, in their "Thought You'd Never Ask" section. They come up with many recipes from reader requests.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

4 medium/large russet potatoes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic (3-4 cloves)
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Bake the potatoes by first rubbing them lightly with oil and then baking them in the preheated oven for 1 hour until they are tender. Cool.
3. Mash potatoes and remove about half of the skin. You want to leave the rest in.
4. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, then add garlic and saute for 5 minutes.
5. Add the remaining ingredients to the pan and cook for 5-10 minutes while stirring often until garlic mashed potatoes are very hot.
Serves 4.

I think that might be it Margie! Im pretty sure there was some skin in the ones I had. Thanks so much. I cant wait to try it.
BTW, I love your site. Even if Im not taking the recipes to make, its fun to read. :D

Hope this turns out well. The recipe looks delicious.

Silly question...for the cream, what kind do you think that would be. I dont even know if they sell just plain cream , LOL. Ive never really checked. I know theres heavy cream, whipping cream, half and half...do they have just cream or does it matter? ;)

I've made Wolfgang's Garlic Mashed and his calls for heavy cream.

I made your recipe Margie and it came out great! And thanks Lynn, I used heavy cream.
I would say they came out very close to YSH's potatos, but I still think YSH were better. They had a certain flavor that I couldnt place and it seems like thats what was missing from mine. DH thinks they were just like YSH so I may be crazy.
But at any rate, they were absolutely delicious! Thanks again for the recipe. :D
