I have no idea how I got on it, but every now and then I get a text message from PETA telling me to hug a pet or save a cow or whatever.

I do NOT have texting on my plan so I have to pay extra to get these.

How can I get off?

Thanks,

Dawn

There should be some contact info on the text message, but if there is not, your wireless provider should have the option of blocking numbers. I think I can block up to 5 numbers at no cost.

I found this online:

5. To unsubscribe at any time, simply text the word "Stop all," "Stop," "End," "Cancel," "Unsubscribe," or "Quit," to 73822. You can also e-mail support@msgme.com to unsubscribe. If you require assistance, want additional information or have questions about this Service, text the word "HELP" to 73822 or e-mail support@msgme.com.

I had to use the cache in google, it would not pull up using the link. I would think replying with the stop/end/cancel/etc would work. Not sure if the email would or not.

If all else fails, can you block it? Through sprint, I have the ability to block certain numbers from calling my kids and/or us. I have used it, fairly easy to do.

This was farther down in the faq's :

. How do I unsubscribe from receiving text messages?
To unsubscribe at any time, simply text the word "Stop" to 73822 or call 866-251-1200.

and a different one:
3. How do I unsubscribe from receiving text messages?
To unsubscribe at any time, simply text the word "Stop" to peta2 (73822) or call 757-622-7382

The phone numbers change but it seems the text number is the same. I think you would be safe replying with the stop/end/cancel.

Thank you!

I have texted them back at my expense just to stop them. It costs me only .20 per text but I tend not to use it if I don't have to.

Crud. Now they have sent me 2 MORE text messages back asking if I really want to stop receiving text messages and how to get back on their list if I wish.

Hopefully it will now stop.

Tell 'em you're eating endangered animals every meal till they stop texting you.;)
