How do I get email notification when the podcast is going live?

With Livestream, I used to get a reminder email the morning of the show and then another email when the show went live. Now I get nothing so I often forget to turn it on.

What do I need to do to get similar email notifications from YouTube?

Steve - You have to make sure to set this up for each and every show you subscribe to. Click on the show you want, then look in the "title bar", and find the settings "gear thingie" - click on that, and there will be a pop up box to enable e-mail notifications, make sure to check it if you want them. There is also a "manage settings" in this box you can click on to play with different options.

Glad I could help. And I have to give props to somebody from the Team (think it was John, during a New segment about going primarily to YouTube from LiveStream) who mentioned it, and caused me to check my settings.

There doesn't seem to be an option to get notifications for live broadcasts only. I definitely don't want an email every time the DIS puts up a new video. I only want to know about the live broadcasts.

The only vids that go up on the dis unplugged channel are the shows, so 3-4 a week if connecting with Walt is on (and after the trip ends )

Gotcha. I was thinking of all of the other videos they put up but I guess those are on a separate channel.

Yeah, they're on just "The Dis" (wdwinfo) channel
