How do I get back to my resort after HDDR?

My kids and I will be going to the 8:30 HDDR show in December. We will be taking a bus from AK to Fort wilderness and then internal bus to pioneer hall. My question is do the buses run late after the show to get back? We are staying at art of animation. Would I have to take a bus to downtown Disney and transfer to AoA bus? I heard they used to have buses that go directly to the resorts after the show outside pioneer hall but not sure if they still do this.

They should be running buses to return you to your resort

What time does mk close? You can always boat to mk then bus home from there.

You can get to hddr the same way, bus to mk, then boat over to the campground.

if MK is open after show walk to boat dock with rest of crowd and boat to MK then bus to your resort. this is faster than Disney Springs. if MK closed there will be buses at bus depot but not sure how they work. Disney will not leave you at Hoop without a way back to your resort and I have never heard about changing at Disney Springs. we go to late show but we stay at campground

The busses run for a while after parks close. If they’re not running you would need to go to Disney Springs to catch a bus, though at that point the easiest thing would be an uber.

The last time we did HDDR (granted it's been a while), there were buses right there to take folks back to their Disney resorts once HDDR was over.

It was a late night at Magic Kingdom so we went by boat there and then by bus back to our hotel. The other way we had planned was to take the internal bus up to the FW bus loop, then bus to Disney springs, then bus to our hotel.
I have never heard of direct buses from HDDR to resorts, but it would be nice if they exist. I would ask at the front desk to confirm.

We did the late show ........ so glad we did after our 2 hour commute there ............. because we had (I didn't know in advance but have since been told that is how it is for the last show of night) several buses right there at Pioneer Hall lined up to take us direct to our resort. They clump you by area; like we were CBR, POP, AoA ....

Don't dally, they were hustling folks along so the buses could pull out.

We've done the late show several times (although it's been a couple of years) and they'll have buses waiting w/ CMs directing you. Turn right as you exit the hall and follow the crowd to the waiting buses. Tell them where you're headed and they'll direct you to your bus. The bus may stop at a couple of different resorts on it's way to yours.
BTW 12/8 is a MVMCP night at Mk, so even tho' the MK 'closes' to non Christmas party ticket holders at 6 p.m., the park stays open for the Christmas party until midnight and thus the buses run from MK until midnight plus. So you can always turn left as you leave the hall, walk down to the boat dock, boat over to MK then walk over and catch the AOA bus there.
The direct buses will be faster, tho'.

you would have to take the internal bus to other end of campground to meet your uber as there is no car stopping or parking at Hoop and that includes handicapped tags
