How do I get back from the car rental desk?

Anyone know if the National car rental desk at the Dolphin will return me to OKW or will I have to walk to MGM and catch a bus?

I'm not certain myself-but if you would like the number of the desk at the Dolphin so you could call and ask them please PM me.

National/Alamo has a complimentary shuttle that will take you back to OKW. Just ask for the specifics when you return the car.

FWIW, you may have to wait a bit, depending on where the shuttle happens to be when you need it.

You can either walk to take a boat to MGM to catch a bus back to OKW. It's only about a 10 - 15 minute walk. IMHO, if the shuttle isn't already at the Dolphin, walking to MGM is the quickest way to get back - no waiting for the shuttle or boat.

if there is no available shuttle, why not take the first bus to the first park that comes along and then take the bus to your resort from that park?

also, i was under the impression that the car-rental-transport-shuttle was only available if you dropped off at the car care center and that you were dependent on regular disney transport if you dropped at the dolphin... is that not true?

Unless something has changed, you can still take advantage of the complimentary shuttle when you use the Dolphin as a pick up or drop off location. I did. Note that the shuttle is not 24 hours - it only operates during the hours the CCC and Dolphin desk are open.

FWIW, taking a bus from the Dolphin to the MK, DD or AK will take longer than taking the boat or walking to MGM and transferring there. There is no bus service from the Dolphin to either MGM or EPCOT. If you walk or boat to EPCOT, you would need park admission and have to walk through the park to get to the resort buses.
