How do I find a particular insect?

I am trying to do an online search. We have these awful black bugs at our house. They are mostly outside, but these little buggers are masters at finding their way inside. They are harmless, but a HUGE pain! They're everywhere! I'm trying to find out what they are so I can find out how to get rid of them.
Just doing a google search for beetles or insects is too vague, but I don't know how else to do it.
Any suggestions?

Just in case anyone knows what they are: They are a black flying beetle looking thing. Kind of like a lightening bug. But with a red stripe. They walk reeeeaaaaallllll sssslllllooooowwwww. They don't fly away fast or anything. You can pick them up, step on them anything you want!
