how do i clean these pennies? tried vinegar, salt, toothpaste

What is the purpose of the age/date of the pennies? Is there a perk of getting/using older pennies vs new 2005 ones?

Try the vinegar again, but this time heat it on the stove. Put your pennies in, then turn on the burner. You'll see them change color as soon as the vinegar gets hot. Of course, be careful not to burn yourself on the hot pan, the hot vinegar or the hot pennies. Good luck.
