How do I Cancel A Reservation with a TA?

What is the appropriate protocol to follow to cancel a reservation made with a TA? We found a deal with another agency that was between $400-$1,400 less depending on the resort. I feel bad canceling, but We simply can't pass up this deal just because we feel bad.

Call the TA and cancel. Don't make excuses or tell them why. Just say "I need to cancel." If asked why, say, "ain't no longer works for us."

As the pp mentioned, just call them, cancel and you need not give any reason other than you've changed your mind if they even ask.

Keep in mind that if that travel agent made any dining reservations for you, that they will probably cancel those as well since that was work that they did for you, based on the fact that they would get commission.

You'll want to check the TA's cancellation policy first. Some of them will charge a fee when you cancel a package that you're booked through them. Not all TA's are that way but you want to make sure that the one you're currently booked with is not one of them.

My "My Disney Experience" account shows my resort that is listed with the former TA. How do I update that? All of the dining reservations I made on my own. Will these automatically transfer? She did say I would need to reorder my magic bands.

Well, then of course MDE still shows the resort.

If you made your own ADRs, they won't cancel when you cancel the resort.
