Hi, this may sound like a really silly question, but I'm hoping you can help. We are hoping to book our holiday for next year DIY, never done this before (so qutie scary for me!! :scared1:), does anyone know how I go about booking airport transfers for both to the hotel and then back to the airport:confused3 we won't drive, so rely on public transport.
Don't have a clue how to go about it, always used a travel agent or booked a package on the internet...please help...thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Mears do transfers and have a website so I presume you can book online. We have used Quick Silver in the past and they were excellent. :thumbsup2

We use Mears a lot. You can book on-line for the return transfers. You will get an email with a number on it. When you go to the Mears desk at MCO (on level one) you tap the number into a machine and it prints your tickets (there and back) and tells you which stand to go to outside on level 1. When you want to come back its best just to give them a quick call to remind them but we have never had any problems with them. Mears are HUGE and they also run the Magical Express. Its very easy BUT it can be quite slow to get dropped off as you may be the last off. It took a good 1 1/2 hours last time as we were the last out!!!! It was cheap though! :)
I see there are a few of you so it may be just as cheap to go by cab especially as you have young ones. Just go to the Mears desk and speak to the nice people there and they will get you one and pre order a return pickup..Don't panic it will be fine...

As you're not driving then it may well be worth considering a towncar transfer. Many of these include a 30 min grocery stop which allows you to pick up some goodies for your hotel room saving you some ££ in the process (towards cost of transfer). If there are a few of you this may even be cheaper anyhow. Best yet they meet you at the escalator and so you're not fretting about getting lost at bus stops!

That's excellent, thank you so much for your response. Ill have a wee look at MEARS on-line, I'm presuming it will be priced per-person? There will be 4 adults and 3 kids going, would I get a cab big enough for all of us or need to just get 2? sorry for all the questions!! :thumbsup2

Yes you would need two cabs..but think it would work out cheaper then a mears shuttle van for all of you.

Just had a thought though....and that is, it maybe Florida state law that the children have to be properly restrained in the vehicles and you may need to bring booster seats for them. You may need to look into that, maybe post another thread asking. We don't have children but its in the back of my mind that its law..may be wrong.:confused3

edited...found this.

Are you staying in Disney? Just catch the Lynx 111 bus. It's $2 to Downtown Dsney. You can then get the free Disney bus to your specific hotel.

Try travelrepublic or viator for rough costs..

Had a quick look and coach return transfer from MCO to I Drive corridor (just a test) and got a cost £102 fr the return for a group of 5.

If you are staying at a Disney resort just take the FREE Disney Magical Express bus. Disney will even collect your luggage at the airport and deliver it to your room.

If not here is the link to Mears Transportation company located at the airport
http://www.mearstransportation.com/

I would avoid taking the Links bus 111 with that many people and all that luggage they may not let you on the bus.

This is wrong info. Disney does not let anyone on the bus with luggage!

You can use magic express to Disney resorts if flying into Orlando airport. If flying into Sanford you can't. Passporter recommends Happy Limo and ***********. We used Happy Limo last time and they were great. This time we are using *********** as they are cheaper. They advertise different sized cars on their website.:surfweb:

I'd suggest Quick Silver! We're getting an Escalade with them for 5 adults! Can't wait!

Def do not do the Lynx bus as with young ones this is far too long and as a PP said Disney do not let you take your luggage on the resort buses when you reach DTD anyway. :) Where are you staying, on or off site?

That was gonna be my intention!! Where is the best place to stop if we are staying across from DTD... in the Buena Vista Palace?

they usually stop at the publx near Disney, we leave kids in cab with DMiL while me,DW,DSiL and DBiL get the beers, wine, sodas, waters, pringles, bread and butter.
Remember to take a photo id with you as you will require it to buy alchool in some shops. seem to remember that supertarget always do it and sometimes have had it in publix as well. we take our photo drivers licence even when not driving.

:thumbsup2 thanks very much guys, you've all been great!! We're staying off-site, I wouldn't consider taking public transport with my kids and all our luggage, especially after a 9 hour flight. Had a look at quick silver their rates are great, plus if they do a free grocery stop, that's even better
Thanks everyone so much, don't know what I'd do without you all :goodvibes:goodvibes
