How do I ask for the payment politely?

I dog sat for a friend last week for 6 days. The dog was actually at my house for the 6 days while my friend was away. My friend said (via email) that she would pay me $75 for watching her dog for 6 days.

She picked the dog up 4 days ago, and hasn't mentioned paying me. I don't want to come across as pushy, but what would be the polite way of asking for the payment?

I'd just call her up, and ask if today would be a good day to stop by and get a check for sitting last week.

You could temper it by saying you had planned on doing something special with the cash this weekend before you asked if you could pick it up from her today. That kind of puts a time limit on it.

At this point I have to give her the benefit of the doubt that she's just forgotten. But if she tries to put you off, I'd never dog sit for her again. $75 for six days is a lot less than she would have paid a kennel or professional pet sitting service.

When a friend of mine owed me money and she hadn't repaid in weeks, I finally just sent an email saying "just thought I would let you know that we aren't going to be home tomorrow so you can just leave the money you owe me for picking up your gifts between the doors".
I got my money!
