How do buses compare between Values and Deluxes?

I have stayed at AKL the past two trips and have really appreciated the great bus service. I need to know how the bus service compares at the ASMv vs Deluxe or Moderates (POR or CB).

My budget says Values this trip but may find the dollars for Moderate if the bus service is a concern. My (solo) trip is for 03/2004.

Thanks for all your great help!

Biggest complaint about Value Resort bus service: Crowds.
Biggest complaint about Moderate Resort bus service: Multiple stops within the resort.
Biggest complaint about Deluxe Resort bus service: Sharing with another resort.

The All-Stars typically recieve the most amount of buses than any other resort. This is because they also have the most amount of people. Although buses run more frequently here than most other resorts, they still will be crowded.

Pop Century (when it opens) will have direct buses (no other stops). As such, it will probably have the best transportation options of the Values/Moderates.

Our two stays at AllStar Music treated us to the best bus service we experienced at WDW. PO/Riverside was second best with Dolphin third. That said, we never had to wait more than 15 mins. for a bus to our destination of the moment and Dolphin's location allowed us to walk to MGM, Epcot and Boardwalk. The worst at WDW was far from bad.

We stayed at WL a few weeks ago and were disappointed somewhat with the bus service. One time we waited over 35 minutes for a bus. We gave up and took a bus to the Contemporary and rode boat back to WL. A person at the bus stop said they'd stayed at WL three times and the bus service always seems slower than any other place they've stayed.

This was my first trip to Disney, and I didn't have anything to compare it to. Still, it beats driving!

Stayed at deluxes and value resorts and used the busses from both.

I agree with Chip 'n Dale Express, but I'll add that the deluxe bus stops are closer to the entrance of the parks. This was always a small pleasure when the troops were headed back to the room.

I've stayed at the WL with no problems with the busses. However, I have noticed that the busses sometimes get out of sync with the schedules. Meaning sometimes two (or more busses) will arrive for one park that no one is waiting for. The bottom line is that the bus service is pretty good, but no matter where you stay, you have a potential to occasionally wait.

Have fun, and don't worry about the busses.

We stayed at ASMu, and the buses were crowded at peak times, but there were lots of them. We never waited very long for our bus to come.

When we went to AKL for Boma, we waited about 30 minutes for a bus to DtD! That was the longest wait we had for busses, other than right after Wishes finished, and *everyone* was waiting for busses.

My only complaint - we never saw Tyler, no matter how many bus drivers we had!!

Best and worst experiences have been at ALL STAR MUSIC. Most of the time has been really the best. One time I was very poorly treated. Ignored completely by driver of bus #1, bypassed by bus #2, bus #3 already had 2 wheelchairs on board and bus #4 broke down after loading my wheelchair and I was stuck on the bus for over an hour because the lift was broken. So while all the able bodied people were shifted to other buses and were in the parks in good time, I was trapped in the bus with a/c useless because door could not be closed, no access to water or restroom and basically no company because the driver was out of the bus most of the time. Finally got to MGM after maintenence finally arived and got the lift closed. And for all this hassle not so much as a sorry.
Second worst experience was a 2 hour wait at Port Orleans - Riverside where I was bypassed by 5 buses on a freezing December morning. Finally they got a bus to come pick me up. I missed several shows because of this since I also need interpreters and those shows had already happened for the day.

While at our last stay at Music, we saw a fenced in area in the parking lot that contained 4-5 buses and drivers just waiting. I guess these are called into service if the crowds are high.

Tyler can you confirm or un-confirm this?

I never saw one of these at any other resort we stayed at.

That's our Zone 6 staging area. All All-Star buses are dispatched from this location.

Zone 4 (Studios, covering CBR and Epcot Resorts) is staged out of the Charter Bus parking lot at the Studios

Zone 3 (Epcot, covering Port Orleans) is staged out of a parking lot between FQ and Riverside.

Zone 2 (MK, covering MK Resorts) is staged out of the MK South Loop
