How Disney-ish is Vero Beach?

We will be visiting Vero Beach for the first time in January, and I have to admit that I don't know much about the resort.

From what I've seen it looks like a nice beach resort, but I am wondering if it feels Disney-ish? Is there Disney decor? Are there characters? What makes it a Disney -feel resort?

Thanks

Hmm, I have only seen characters at the character breakfast, I think they have it on Saturday mornings. The quality and ambiance is definitely up to Disney standards. The decor isn't overly character-ish if that's what you're asking. We love Vero and always visit before we hit the parks for a little break. This year we are heading there after the members cruise in a couple weeks. Fingers crossed for no hurricanes!!!!!

they have campfire, activities, a minigolf area, community hall where they hold activities (bingo), crafts, poolside activities, the cms do recreation. the character breakfast has the disney-touch. you can borrow movies while you are there to catch up on the disney movies you haven't seen recently. popcorn::

We stayed at Vero in July...it was super hot and rainy...saw characters at dinner...haven't stayed at other dvc properties...seemed understated, very pretty and nice. Would go again and it helped convince us to buy, we're waiting for ROFR...:cheer2:

I would say not very disneyish (new word) I guess. But it is a great resort with tons of character. Much more laid back. On a disneyish scale from 1-10, i would say 3.

I love going to Vero Beach! I don't think it's any less Disney than the other DVC resorts on WDW property. There are character meals, hidden Mickeys, decorative Mickeys, Disney merchandise at the shop, Disney CM's, and I saw Goofy at the pool for meet & greets twice when I was there in July. And it's on the beach. It's a very relaxing place to go and still have the feel of a Disney resort.

I don't think either VB or HHI are overly Disney-ish. I mean, both resorts are beautifully kept & clean & there are some Hidden Mickey's & the CM's are friendly & welcome you home...I don't remember seeing any characters at VB but we also didn't eat on site. But you're not AT Disney so there's only so much Disney-fying to be done.:confused3

I think both HH & VB are VERY nice resorts but they don't exude Disney nearly as much as the WDW resorts do. That said, I think this is an area that's both variable and personal and thus the experience will vary from one to another. IF "Welcome Home" and the term CM give you the Disney feel, then they are just as Disney as the rest.

it is a nice disney resort, but it will be quite cool at that time of the year.

I hope not too cold!!!!

I checked the weather. And the average for that time of year is highs in the low 70's

I know that last year was an extra cold winter - so I am hoping for a warm one this year.

Anyways, at least there won't be snow.... at least I hope not!!!!

My family and I love Vero. It may not be as "Disney" since it's not on property but the quality is there and it's a great place to swim, eat and relax.

We specifically LOVED IT as a winddown from WDW!!! Find we love WDW, but especially in the summer, its hectic, hot, and busy!

Vero is the perfect place to relax! We found the CM's extremely friendly!

We had 4 days of PERFECT WEATHER! THE RESORT IS VERY UNHURRIED AND PEACEFUL! I LOVE COMBINING VERO WITH A FEW DAYS AT WDW!

ENJOY...JANUARY WILL PROBABLY BE COOL THOUGH!:dance3:
