How difficult would it be from HS to Boardwalk?

After HS closes at 7pm was thinking of going over to the Boardwalk for a counter meal, how difficult would this be using Disney transportation?

Any counter service meals at boardwalk you can recommend?

Easy.

Take a Friendship Boat or walk.

The walk will take 15-20 minutes.
The boat, once boarded and underway, will take approximately that, as well.

There are a few stands with Counter Service food, but most of the food service at Boardwalk is at Table Service restaurants.

If you go to the Beach Club Resort (see the map in my first post,) there is a very, very popular CS Restaurant called, "Beaches and Cream."

HERE is the B&C Menu.

Wrong. If they are on the dining plan then it's a table service credit, not a counter service credit.

The bakery on the Boardwalk has some sandwiches you can get as a counter service credit and I believe there is a kiosk as well there that has hot dogs and such.

Unfortunately that is the one draw back to the Boardwalk resort area, although it is my favorite place to stay.

I can't think of any place I would recommend. Maybe check Swan / Dolphin?

Like everyone said, easy. The only problem would be getting back to your resort. Not a huge issue but, it would probably take a long time.

I would definitely walk or take a boat -

The walk is very nice - not long at all - totally flat - and very peaceful!

Most of the concessions do not take the dining plan - OR your KTTW card for room charge.

We learned that that hard way! LOL

We used a CS credit for the Boardwalk Bakery. They have delicious sandwiches, salads and wonderful desserts.

Yes they do.

There is a pizza by the slice place over there too.It was alright but I wouldn't write home about it!

There should be no issues walking or taking the boat to the Boardwalk, however by the time your finished at the Boardwalk all the WDW buses to the other resorts might be finished for the night, unless they are having PM Extra Magic Hour. So you might need to get a taxi or something from the Boardwalk back to where you are staying at.

As for somewhere over there to eat I personally liked the Boardwalk To Go stand, because it's standard food like Hot Dogs, Chicken Breast Sandwiches, Nachos with Cheese sauce and etc. Another location I would recommend is the Boardwalk Bakery.

The Boardwalk To Go stand does not take the KTTW cards to charge food purchases to their rooms, although they do take the standard credit cards.

If that's the one across from the Flying Fish then they do. It even has the purple DP symbol next to some items, unless that changed in the last 2 months.

Well when I went there last month I tried paying with my KTTW card and I was told they don't accept it and they had no purple DP symbol on any of their items. I believe you are thinking about the Pizza window which is next to Kouzina because over there they accept the Disney Dining Plan and I saw the purple DP symbols on their menu.

As other posters have said, CS in that area is limited. DS liked the pizza by the slice, but he is easy to please. The bakery is good for something light. If you have park hoppers, what about taking the Friendship boat from DHA to Epcot, it drops you off at the World Showcase entrance. Lots of CS possibilities there! Then you could exit Epcot via World Showcase and walk around the boardwalk.

Or what about just appetizers at one if the TS restaurants. Depends on whether you have the dining plan, but sitting out on the Boardwalk is nice. I would do that OOP, personally, and save the credits for another time.

Hope that helps a bit!

I am thinking that if Epcot is still open after you are done at the Boardwalk, you could walk to Epcot, which is about 5 minutes, and get the bus from Epcot to your resort. You would need to have a hopper pass though.

What about the idea of taking Disney Transportation from HS to POR then the boat to DTD for a CS at Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, etc?

There is no way I would go to BW with the intent to get some decent counter service meals...they just don't exist. I stay at BWV all the time and this is a huge complaint with those of us who own there.
I would head to Epcot, if possible.
Or, take the bus at BW to DTD...Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace is a terrific spot for CS food...one of my must do's on every single trip.

No, I'm not thinking about the pizza window. I said the place across from the Flying Fish. I'll be there next week, I'll check it out again. I usually stay at the Boardwalk at least 6 times a year so I've walked by that kiosk a million times. They must have recently changed it if that is so.
