I'm thinking of applying for a SW credit card to get the 50,000 points to use for a future trip. I don't want to apply if I don't have a chance of getting it. My credit score is currently 665. Mostly due to 9 inquiries in the past year (car loan rate shopping) Can anyone who has gotten it recently comment?

Hmmm. My guess is that's going to be tough for a chase card.

Depending on your income and income to debt ratio you may be able to get it by calling the reconsideration line.

You never know, but my guess is that you would not get instant approval.

A website I looked at indicates people as low as 603 have gotten approved. There was a statistic I saw once that said if your score is under 700 it's basically a 50/50 proposition but I see many reports of people on flyertalk and other places with scores of 680-699 reporting approvals. I'd say you have a good chance but it's hard to sure.

Do you have other cards with CHASE currently? If so, you may want to look at your credit limits on those cards. We recently opened a Plus and Premiere card in my wife's name but before applying for each we reduced credit limits on her other cards to increase her chances of being auto-approved so we didn't have to talk to re-con line (our reason was because we've opened 6 cards in my wife's name this year, but the info could help you nonetheless). Not sure that would matter in your case but it's what we did and everything worked seamlessly.
