this is a thread to share your story of how your love for Disney began!

ill start.... when i was little my mom would always put on mickey mouse cartoons on the tv and it was like i vanished into a whole nother world...my mom tells me tht as soon as she put on the mickey cartoons it was hard to get my attention. Disney was always present in my childhood and i am very glad that it was

then in 2004 my dad asked me what i wanted for my b-day and i said i wanted to go to disneyland.....and so we went and then the next year i went with my mom and the year after that i went with my dad again...

later in april of 2007 i was surfing the web and i went onto the disney world website.... i convinced my father of letting my and my mom go to orlando for 13 days......we went to all the theme parks and we had tons of fun.

and when i came back it hit me.......i loved everything disney.....and so from then on my love for all things disney has grown and now all of my family knows me as the kid who loves disney :)

My parents brainwashed me.

From the time I was born until now, Disney movies have a spot in our living room on Saturday nights. My first trip to WDW was when I was 5 and I've been back so many times I've lost count (it's in my sig...). We bought DVC in 2004 and now we go even more often.

So, I blame my parents for getting me hooked.

When I was a baby and my mama used to dress me up in Pooh Bear stuff and call me Aar Bear xD

IT will be a long list sorry.

-Born near Orlando
-Raised near O\Disney
-Parents worked at Disney
-Called my Mickey Mouse for 6 months!!! (embarrasing but true!!!)
-Free passes into park (parents jobs)
-Pretty much went there the day I was born (practically!!!)
-Owner of pretty much every disney movie
-Moved to Vegas so I get to go to Disneyland too. (2 different ones! yay!)
-Epcot
-Animal Kingdom
-MGM Studios
-Cali Adventure
-Autograph books (full!!!)
-The shows
-THE LION KING SHOW AT THE MANDALAY BAY! (hotel here in Vegas)
-Rockin rollercoaster (at MGM Studios)
-Christmas party at MGM Studios
-Downtown Disney (the one in WDW)
-MONORAILS ARE FUN!!!! LOL XD
-VMK (:sad1: WHY DID IT HAVE TO SHUT DOWN!!! WHY!!!)
-POTC
-Splash Mountain
-Space Mountain
-Big Thunder Mountain (ALL THREE MOUNTAINS!!! XD)
-Ears
-Went once with cousins (They are cute! Until the one starts biting)
-Disboards
-And finally the CANDY CANDY CANDY!!!! XD
And that is why I LOVE DISNEY!!!!!!

My parents brainwashed me too. My first trip was when I was a few months/1 year old. I don't really know exactly when I started liking Disney, it was always exposed to us.

I went when I was real little a few times just for a day.
But a few years ago I went for real, and I was AMAZED.
I love all the Magic :wizard:
And VMK was the best best best game-website ever. There will never be anything like it again :[

So many contributing factors.
Both of my parents are larger fans then they'd care to admit, they subliminally got me hooked through extensive collections of toys, movies, and games, as well as trips to the parks starting at a very young age.

A few years ago during a Disney trip I realized how much I really loved it.

My love of Disney started from my parents. They got me hooked on the Disney Channel when I was younger, and watching Disney movies (even today, I have more Disney movies then non-Disney movies). The one big vacation we went on every year was to WDW. And then when I went to college, I participated on the CP (in fact, I am moving down to FL in 17 days to work at WDW again). I just can't imagine life without Disney.

My mom brainwashed me. I used to watch The Little Mermaid every day when I was younger. We went to WDW when I was 4, and again when I was 8, for my 10th birthday, and then my 11th. We went again when I was 12, but I was in a hormonal mood (seriously!) and I was like, "GUYS IM DONE."

Yeah I realized a year later that it wouldn't change, and I practically beg to go back. :)

this convo makes me want to pop in a disney movie.. lol

ive already got my mom liking disney...my dad is a lost cause (ive tried many times) and my sis occasionally (wen im not home) watches the little mermaid and thinks i dont notice :) but i do .....so she is the next one to be converted into a disney luver ..it will be difficult but i shall succed

every saturday morning there are disney shows for about 2 hours on this program called "saturday disney." i've been watching it for pretty much my whole life.
also, there were disney movies on every sunday night.
when i was little, my nan took me and my big sister to see pocahontas at the movies.
my dad used to hire my sisters and i "princess collection" and "disney sing-a-long" videos.
my parents have been buying me a disney movie for every birthday and christmas for about 3 years now :)

although, my mum doesn't like disney at all

Just from watching the movies from a time when I couldn't even talk or walk.
It's mostly due to the movies, because I never went to the theme parks until I was 11.

When I was born, my parent's lived in an apartment that was literally of walking distance from Disneyland, so they used to go there all the time. That- and my bedroom was Disney themed when I was a baby. My baby blanket is even disney- it has baby Minnie, Mickey and Pluto on it. :goodvibes

I'm not sure, but I bet being a child of the 90s was a big influence. The Disney movies were great, and Disney Channel had good shows on when I was growing up.

My parents tell me when I was younger, I would watch Disney movies all the time. I wore out our Beauty & the Beast VHS because I watched it everyday.

I've also been told that when I was born, I was placed in a cot at the hospital with a Mickey Mouse blanket. Exposure to Disney within hours of being born could be an influence?

I was raised to love Disney (:
Since I was a baby my parents/grandma would always put in classic Disney movies and I'd sit and watch for hours. And they bought me Disney toys, clothes, games, etc. And when I was about 7, my sister introduced me to Disney Channel and now I watch it all the time.
In 2005, my mom randomly blurts out "I wanna go back to Disney World!" And thus, my WDW obsession began... Oh aaaand I found out about VMK. It kept me sane :rotfl:
