I am having trouble figuring how to list my step mother without using the word "stepmother". She is part of my family but by no means is she my mother plus I do not like the word stepmother anyway. Here is what I came up with, it sounds awkard but I can't think of anyother way. Any other ideas?

Family of the Bride, fathers wife .......................Mrs.XXXX

or

Father of the Bride's Wife..............................Mrs.XXXX

I need help. its a touchy subject and my DF doesn't understand this.

Well, how about listing them as couple?

Father of the bride, and wife: John and Jane Smith

It's been a while, but I think my stepdaughter did it this way:

Parents of the bride: Mary and Joe Smith; John and Ann Public

She listed her mother & stepfather first, then her father and me.

I don't see a need to specifically list someone as a step parent -- most people will get the idea.

At my stepsister's wedding in June, the programs read:

Mother of the Bride.... Jane Smith, escorted by John Smith
Father of the Bride.....Tom Jones, escorting Susan Jones
