How did this happen?

I have been trying for 2 weeks to get reservations at Chef Mickey's for February 2008. We have 7 people. I have called everyday and I'm always told there is not a single available reservation for any of the days we'll be there (low crowd season too). Then today, there are 7 different times available for our party of 7 on our first choice day. How can that happen? I asked the CM to confirm the restaurant, the number of people and the date. She said everything was right. It just makes me a little nervous that all of these reservations were suddenly available. Thoughts??

My guess would be that they had some cancels. I would not be concerned about it at all - Just celebrate that you got your first choice I have never experienced any mishaps with Disney Dining and every trip I take I make at least 3 ADR's and I have been almost 40 times - so rest easy and enjoy your meal

I agree! I'd just celebrate! I've never had a bad experience at Chef Mickey's (been 8-10 times).

Another possibility is that at 180 days, Disney holds back some reservations and releases them at different intervals. I like that possibility becuase I need one more hard-to-get ADR for our December trip.

Congratulations on getting Chef Mickey's! You will have a great time!

I often wonder if some CM's have more access than others. Or maybe it's just the luck of the draw. Have you ever called up and felt uncertain about the CM that who picks up? I myself have told the person that I needed to check on something and would call back. Then I would call again for another CM. Anyway, this is just me babling.
