Jiko at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has announced two Signature Wine Dinners to be held at the restaurant during this year's Food and Wine Festival. The dates are October 4 and November 1, 2007. The price for the dinner is $150 (including tax and gratuity) per guest. Reservations for both dates are being taken now. Other Signature Wine dinners are scheduled at Jiko throughout the rest of the year on the following dates: August 2; September 6; and December 6. Call 407-WDW-DINE to make reservations.

I am now considering doing this instead of a planned night out at PI during our trip. I would love to know what kind of menu is served at these dinners. Does anyone know? TIA Maggie

I love the Jiko wine dinners! I've gone to a few of them and as soon as I can find a menu from one, I'll post it in this thread for you. The dinners are (IIRC) six courses and last around 4-5 hrs from podium check-in to finish. The evening starts in the savannah overlook lounge with sparkling wine accompanied by 3 different hors d'oeuvres brought around. Then you're brought down to Jiko's wine room and each course is usually paired with a different wine from the guest vinter. The vinter discusses the wines, the chefs discuss the courses. The dinners are themed; past ones I attended were -- AKL's 5th anniversary, Fairview Cheese & Wine, and a F&WF one featuring Indian cuisine prepared by guest chef Floyd Cardoz of NYC's Tabla.

In the past all dinners included a fantastic cheese course of Chef Annette's creation. I don't know what effect her upcoming departure will have on these dinners.

I want to go to one so badly! If we hadn't already bought airfare, my F&W Fest dates would have changed in a heart beat. Hopefully they'll do them next year. I would plan a trip around that.
