I know how Orlando did-we are still swimming and hoping the rain stops.:worship:
Any pictures of the Ft.? I know Loop 900 floods-love to see. We are supposed to be there for the weekend:yay: and we have Tropical Storm Gustva coming-

Just a little water standing between a few sites and small branches down but picked up right away.:dance3: Have fun.

I can't believe how strong Gustave became in one day! We're here in Naples and sick of it, too!

Just get the storms out of the system. That way it's cleared up for me in six weeks!! :woohoo:

We were there until last Sat - so 4 days of rain and such. The Fort was being cleaned up as we were leaving Saturday morning - we didn't see anything beyond some extra standing water (park was surrounded) and some broken branches, and tons of pine needles every where

I was wondering if our cabin(trailer) would float away one evening..lol

We didn't see any major damage at the Fort. As mentioned just little branches and standing water. Will be interesting to hear if it is gone away at this point. Seemed like it could lead to a lot of mosquitos.

I wish our county had as good a grip on controlling mosquitoes as Disney. We are going to have a bumper crop here in a couple days. I can already see the swirls in all the big puddles. Gotta go get the spray!

Mosquitos could be crazy...they just started yesterday here in Naples where we got Fay just a bit earlier than Orlando. I have to spray down my kids just to go to the car and they are never that bad at my house.

Bring lots of bug spray!

I'm actually thinking of getting a electrical bug zipper thingy. Extreme situations call for extreme measures!:scared1:
Between the bugs and the water-I'm over summer a bit early this year. Of course we have 2 more months of summer here ..to go along with our "summer" hurricanes.
:sad2: Might have to trade in the travel trailer for a boat if this keeps up.:scared1:

:yay: Good to hear the ft. did well. I feared it became a swamp again.

We'll be there too for the holiday weekend and it was nice to see that other than the wet weather the Fort made it through the winds and stuff. I sure hope Gustva stays off Florida though....could make for a really short trip for me.
See ya there!

Heard on the news that budget cuts have caused many counties to cut out or greatly reduce mosquito control this year.

Anyone know what does happen at FW if a hurricane were to come through? We were at CBR for Hurricane Wilma and the restraunts was closed and such, but thinking about people camping, they night not fair too well in a hurricane. We'll be in a cabin, just wondering since we are headed down the end of Sept.

they will put you in a resort room

There is a good bit of flooding at a lot of the loops still, but the ducks are loving it. All of the sites seem to be high and dry still, so we all have lake front sites :cool1:

Thankfully Mickey knows how to keep the mosquito eggs from hatching, so I have not seen any real issue now on our second day in the 300's.

Heck I have been to the fort when water was standing everywhere. Still no mosquitos to bother you. Only insects ever to bother me there are the fruit flies who come out in the spring. Disney knows how to control mosquitos. Wish my county (Brevard, FL) could do as good a job. But then again they don't have the money Disney has.

Just got back this afternoon. When we got there last Sunday there were "rivers" everywhere between the cabins and one loop looked all but deserted it was so flooded.

By the time we left yesterday afternoon it was pretty much dried up at the cabins at least. I did see the Disney Maintenance guys out spraying for mosquitoes yesterday and the day before so I think they are "on it".

Do I understand correctly that if you are in a motor home you either decide to stay in your motorhome or leave? I used to work at a resort hotel on the SC beach and when the governor ordered evacuation we had to close the hotel and the people got refunds. Any policy like that exist at DW?
