We camped as a group this month at Warriors State park in Kingsport and this past Weekend in Gatlinburg for Free!! It was a appreciation weekend for firefighters,police,emt,teachers ect..

Hi Stacy! You live in my favorite part of the world! We are actually planning a trip to the Smokies in late July. We already have our campground sorted out for that trip, but I would love to hear your opinions on some of your local state parks. We have been to few as day guests, but have never camped at any.

My hubby is a volunteer firefighter in his spare time since he has to work a real job. I love this area alot also. If any of you guys have any questions about camping in the smokies or near the kingsport/bristol area just ask

Keep in mind that this board can become very addictive, you can spend literally hours reading thread after thread getting more and more information and insite into WDW and the Fort.

Welcome to our little community from a fellow firefighter. I have a brother that lives in Rutledge TN and is a vounteer on the rescue squad there. I also love your area. The Smokies are my fav place now other than Disney. I spent a few days last June up there on my motorcycle rding and fell in love. I hope to return later this year and camp and bike this time. Last year we stayed in a hotel.
