….but I’m glad I’m here!

In the beginning I was all “Poly resale or bust!!” But many of you realigned my perspective that it wasn’t the best idea for my family 5.
Then my next plan was “ Resale BLT then direct Reflections” well…we all know what happened with Reflections.
Then the next plan was “Resale BLT!!!!!” but no matter how hard I try, I just don’t love BLT and as I saw the price of resale climb from 130 to 145 to 160 and now 180. I gave Riviera another look.

I was firmly in the “no way Riviera” camp from the beginning, but, it has been a slow build attraction that ended with us flying down to WDW last weekend to go on a tour because I wanted to be sure.
And here I am today, a proud Riviera owner :)
Thank you thank you to everyone on these boards who answered questions and kept me informed while I stalked.

Congratulations! Gotta admit that RIV grows on you. I too was a no way to not only owning direct points, but just closed and waiting on my resale RIV to load.

It is just that magical of a resort for me!

I remember your definite no and transformation to RIV. It helped to convince us the restrictions weren’t a show stopper. I was a soft no, but after reading the discussions and then seeing the studio size difference between CC and RIV, we were sold. The compactness of the resort was a big plus too. It’s easily walkable, you don’t have to walk miles to get to food or the pools like at the other resorts (okay, miles is an exaggeration 😉).

Congratulations! If we didn't already have enough points elsewhere, we would have given RIV strong consideration. We toured it last fall with my sister and brothers. It's a beautiful resort. I hope you have many happy stays there!

I was the same way with Poly.... Always liked it, never IN LOVE with it. Then we bought a contract and ever since it's been 😍. Trader Sams, Dole Whip stand, monorail, palm trees, Ohana, poly smell, dark orange hallways, the pool, the history.....

Poly is our first contract and though we haven’t had our welcome home trip yet, we always stay Polynesian and are absolutely in love already lol😂

When I first researched the points chart, I thought that too. But, when I looked at the resorts we’d likely want to stay at the 7-month window, we likely have to book an upgraded room due to availability and then the point differential wasn’t bad and in some cases even less. And, there is no way we’d purchase at multiple resorts, just to get the 11-month advantage for cheaper point rooms.
