All these engagement stories are so cute!!! I will now share mine...
So DH and I had planned to go to Orlando after I finished my law school finals in December of 2009. We had been together for a little over 2 years, and I knew that we would be getting married when I finished law school, and I was just waiting for a proposal!
We had recently gotten APs, and we were trying to find things off the beaten path to visit in each of the parks. Well one night, he asked me if I had ever seen Cinderella's Wishing Well. I told him that I hadn't, that I would love to try to find it. Over the next couple nights, he would say weird things - asking about tripods if no one was around to take a picture, and random other things - he is horrible about surprises!!! He even mentioned about how he was really nervous about asking my dad for my hand in marriage (I'm a big daddy's girl and DH finds my dad very intimidating).
I mentioned something to my best friend about him acting strange and that I thought maybe he was planning something, but my best friend assured me that I was just being paranoid, and that if anything was up she would know and she didn't know anything. (Man did she fool me!)
We were visiting the MK on December 13, 2009. We checked into CBR, and went to MK to meet up with my family (it was my niece's 3rd birthday). No one would answer their phones, so DH and I wandered around. We even went to Country Bear Jamboree (one of my favorites, but he HATES it)... I should've known something was up! I stopped to eat and call my parents again. He asked if I wanted to go find the wishing well. We were on our way when I spotted Lady Tremaine, Drisella, and Anastasia and I insisted on taking a picture with them. We then proceeded onto the wishing well and I took some pictures. He pulled a penny out of his pocket and told me to make a wish. I quickly wished for my happily ever after and threw the penny in the well. He looked at me and said "Close your eyes and make your wish again." I rolled my eyes and made my wish again. When I opened them... he was down on one knee!!!
Well this is when I started to freak out! I couldn't believe he was proposing and I started screaming "NO! NO! NO!" Now with these nos, I meant no I can't believe you are doing this, not no I will not marry you (luckily he knew that I was just surprised). I barely let him say anything before I grabbed the ring and started kissing him. He finally got out "Will you marry me?" and I was just so excited and finally said yes.
So yes, he had this great proposal and I ruined it!!! LOL.
