how did Carrie meet BIG in the first place?

I just started watching -- how did she meet him in the first place?

I believe they bump into each other (literally) on the street and the contents of her purse spill all over, which he helps her pick up.

Didn't she meet him momentarily at a bar or party, and then later ran into him on the streets and spilled her purse?

I think she bumped into him on the street first, then later saw him again at the bar. I think samantha was making a play for him but he ignored her and talked a bit to carrie.

eta: didn't she not know who he was at first, but samantha clued her in? I can't remember now...have to dig the dvds out

Yes, the street bumping came first. A bunch of condoms spilled out of her purse. They later met at a bar. Samantha had him like a cigar for her and offered to take him on a private tour of the place as it was a client of hers. He turned her down.

I'm a rather new SitC watcher too. The meeting "BIG" episodes were on a couple of weeks ago on TNT.

I think we all like BIG because he is a reminder that we all have that one person who just makes our hearts melt but we can never quite work it out.
