Hi Everyone,

I just had a brilliant idea to book a last minute trip to Disneyland. Would anyone happen to know what the crowds will be like 5/19 - 5/24?

I checked the Disneyland calendar and it doesn't look like any grad nights planned, so my fingers are crossed.

TIA.....

The 22nd will be insane. Expect closures in the early afternoon to late evening.

The 19th and 20th will probably be pretty busy, but not horrible. Early closing times make this a weird time to take a trip.

I figure the 23rd and 24th will be super busy as well due to them being the first weekends with the new 60th stuff.

I think the 19th and 20th will be okay with the 21st getting a bit busier. Friday will be crazy, but fun. We will be there that week too. Crowd levels were projected around 5-6, except Friday which is a 10. Peter Pan opens on the 21st. Look at the DL calendar as there are weird hours all week long and even a switch on MM days.

DL also closes early on the 21st, so expect heavier crowds there during the day and then later at night in DCA.

I generally agree that things will probably be manageable on the 19th, 20th, and 21st. However, May 22nd is the start of the 60th anniversary celebrations with a new parade, fireworks, and WoC debuting, not to mention the park being open for 24-hours (6:00 am Friday, 5/22 to 6:00 am Saturday, 5/23). Saturday and Sunday are likely to be busy as well because folks are coming to see the new shows and it is part of a three day weekend (Memorial Day). If you are going during this period, I would try to do as much as possible on Tuesday through Thursday and then expect very large crowds on Friday through Sunday.

The PPs are right on target! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the responses. Based on the above info we can also get cheap flights 5/12 - 5/16. Anything weird going on then? Thanks again!

Memorial Day weekend has a lot of blocked days for APs, so that might alleviate a little crowding. The Deluxe APs are blocked on the 23rd-24th; SoCal APs are blocked the 22nd-24th and the SoCal Select APs are blocked the 22nd-25th.

True, but a day when Deluxe APs are blocked is a day of projected high attendance. I would think the whole Memorial Day weekend starting on the 22nd will be busy. Also, some CA schools are out starting Memorial day weekend, so families may be rushing to the park before the rest of the schools let out. And then you have grad nights and school tours, etc. so the parks will likely just get busier and busier as the days go on after Memorial Day.

All good points. I guess I was just thinking more in terms of locals with APs who would want to go in and see the new nighttime shows. I'm fully prepared for massive crowding because of the Memorial Day weekend.
