We just booked a cruise in Sept...and it is a surprise for our 2 dd's ages 4 and 14. :cool1: We have also planned a vacation to disney in september and since we love to cruise disney we thought we would just go for it. Now we have to try and keep the cruise a secret. ;) Question is we have never stayed in cat 11 (gty) with the 4 of us. Are we going to be cramped? We have previously stayed in cat 4 and cat 10 deluxe in past cruises. We are still going to do a few days in disney so we have to budget especially now with adding the cruise to our vacation.

HooKooDooKu; thank you for the link it was very good information. I did not even think about doing the over the door shoe holder. We've always had plenty of storage in the other categorys.

If it matters, there is no split bath in Cat 11, either.

Just my personal opinion. Category 11 is to avoided if at all humanly possible. Honestly, I felt like I was in a coffin. But, plenty of other people don't feel that way I guess.

We have never had a problem with three of us in a cat 11 but we don't spend much time in the cabin either. Even when we were in there it was fine. You can lift the mattress on the bed and put suitcases under there, giving you more storage space. We also used an over door shoe holder for the bathroon on our last cruise and that was a great idea. You should be just fine.

We stayed in a cat11, with dd4 and ds7 at the time. We were tight, but never felt suffocated. SInce then, we have cruised in other categories, but will always go with the cheapest...We do not spend enough time in our cabin to justify the $$$$$. IT is a personal choice, and goes with your budget...

Just try and remember deck 7 aft, we spent A LOT of time there without a balcony!!!

:goodvibes

We just came off the 7-night with two people in a category 12, and we were very happy. We have previously done a 3-night with four people in a cat 10 and another 3-night with 3 people in a cat 11 and were also just fine. The thing that would have been tought this time with four people would have been storage space, since we filled almost every shelf and drawer. Of course, we brought way too much clothing, since the weather was beautiful and we spent most of each day in our bathing suits. But other than the storage, we're happy with the smaller space.

We,ve done two 7 day cruises in 2 cat 11 with 3 0f us in one and two in the other. We had large suitcases and garment bags with us and didn't feel crowded at all. Of course we did not spend much time in the cabin. This time we're doing one cat 11 and a cat 6 - DH's idea- I could've stuck with the two cat 11's. I don't care- as long as I'm on the ship. I am excited about the cat 6 though!

I've got 2 smug answers - how crowded you are may be directly proportional to how much time you spend in the room.

While I am not a "spa" kind of girl - some cruisers like to do the rainforest package in the spa - and get ready for dinner there instead of in the room. This little splurge may help the 1-bathroom situation. Plus - you'll be pampered a bit.

The other smug answer is - Cruising in a cat. 11 is not nearly as bad as working!!!

we have gone a 7 day cruise in a cat. 11 stateroom. there were four of us, and it was fine, there just wasnt much storage space. we made the the mistake of taking along non-collapsable luggage, which doesn't fit under the bed. i recomend bringing like a rolling duffel, unpacking into drawers(there are planty of those) and then storing luggage under bed. after that, the room is just fine.

We do spend a lot of time in the cabin (especially last cruise when DS was still doing 2 naps per day). We never felt crowded in a Cat 11, it was just the loss of storage space that was an issue.
