How crowded was December 2021 the 13th to 19th?

Making plans for next year. How crowded was the week before Christmas 2021? I were there the first week of December and it was pretty crowded. We are thinking December 2022 the 12th to the 17th.

We were there Dec 18-23. It was crowded but we enjoyed it and said we would visit that time again. One of the advantages to that time is that Disney is expecting crowds so I feel it evens out a bit compared to other “crowded” times. Compare it to Thanksgiving…parks were still sold out but we had an extra hour of Early Entry to enjoy AND they threw some of the ILL into the regular Genie+ pot. So overall, we had a great time!

We were there 12/17 to 12/24. I was glad to see the decorations but everywhere was so crowded to me. Even when we went to see the gingerbread house at GF, the line to buy anything was crazyyyyy. We had fun but I’d probably wait to do it again.

We were there 12/19 - 12/25. It was very crowded but generally the crowds were not too bad. We did leave MK early one day as we were finding the crowds obnoxious and oppressive but generally people were pretty “chill”. Having park hoppers was nice. The biggest issue we noticed was the large number of groups traveling together. Large groups walking together in the parks can create some bottlenecks and make moving about challenging.

We were there Dec 17-30th. Have been at WDW for several Christmases over the past 14 years. 2021 was crowded but not as badly crowded as some past years. Seems Disney is keeping crowds manageable. For us, the advantages of being there outweigh the disadvantages.

We were there 12/17-12/21. If I didn't have high school aged kids who don't want to miss school, I would DEFINITELY go before most schools get out for Christmas break. I think that would help the crowds a lot.

Just did December 10th-16th with our extended family. Afternoons got a little crowded, and Epcot was crowded in the evenings, but not inordinately so. Would definitely do that time of year again.

Stayed at Riviera, and it was not crowded at all. SkyLiner was consistently a walk-on, and buses were never crowded.

I was there 15th-21st, which is a bit nearer to your dates. 15th, 16th barely crowded at all. I went to universal on the 30th, 31st and it was CRAZY there.

I don’t think you can be compare it. We were there 9-12 and it was sold Out parks. ironically it was more crowded throughout the day than New Year’s Eve (with the exception of the final fireworks of course). And in magic kingdom compared to 30th it was mostly just the same. However, i would expect them to increase park capacity, so comparisons to this year-whoops, 2021- may not mean anything at all.

We were at CBR the end of November and we loved using the skyliner. So quick and easy.

I was there Dec.17-24

Disney extended the early morning access to an hour before park opening. We took advantage of that each day. Besides AK, the mornings were not super crowded and we were able to ride multiple headliners before the park opened. The evening hours at Epcot and MK were walk ons for all rides.

The only time I thought "I'm surrounded by tons of people" was at MK at night, especially once everyone started staking out spots for fireworks. Wait times during the day for most attractions were 45-90 minutes (minus Rise, Slinky, and FOP).

I was there 12/13 - 12/17 and it was crowded, but not holiday week crowded! I went once for Jersey Week/Veteran's Day in November pre-covid and that felt more crowded than this December week. World Showcase felt very crowded walking around a couple evenings, but other times wasn't bad. We got a lot done, even with waiting in more standby lines than I was used to with Fastpass (we did have Genie+, but did not find it as effective). I would definitely go at that time again, especially because I loved all the holiday decorations and events.

We stayed at CBR and also thought the skyliner was great! Longest wait was getting to Epcot for rope drop and leaving Epcot after closing. We hopped around between Hollywood Studios, the resort, and Epcot a lot because the convenience of just jumping on the Skyliner was so easy.

How long was the wait to get onto the Skyliner after Epcot closing? I saw the long line to get on after Harmonious but I wasn't sure how quick the line moved?

We waited about 25 minutes but I think we were a little past the biggest rush of people leaving after Harmonious because we had been in line for Remy (which was down). There were extended hours for deluxe hotels that night, and we stayed in line past 10:00 closing. We finally gave up at 10:30 pm, stopped by Guest Services on the way out, and didn't get in line for the Skyliner until around 10:45.

Sounds about the same as when we went end of November into December. I know I just love the skyliner. At closing at Epcot did take a little longer but once the line started moving it was quick.

How long was the wait to get onto the Skyliner after Epcot closing? I saw the long line to get on after Harmonious but I wasn't sure how quick the line moved?

December 3rd we got in line at closing. It was the longest we waited for the skyliner. My guess would be 15 to 20 minutes before we got on.
