How crowded is the boat to YC when HS closes?

Hello!
In October, I am staying at the Yacht Club (my first time there!). I will be doing a day at Hollywood Studios and staying until the park closes. I was wondering how crowded the boats going from HS to Yacht Club will be once Fantasmic and the Star Wars GS is over that evening? Is the boat queue traditionally similar to the bus queues? I just don't want to be waiting 30 minutes for a boat, when I can grab an uber and be in my hotel room in 10 minutes, but I'd love to ride the boat if it's a short wait. ;)

The lines for the boats do get backed up at park closing. It is only about 10 minutes between boats tho, so if you miss one, shouldn't be too long for the next one. And then about a 10-12 minute ride to YC.

This.

I'm not sure Uber would be any quicker, as the car would have to deal with everyone else trying to leave the parking lot at the same time. That could take a while, as well.

Assuming you are fit, the walk back is much, much faster than either Uber or the boat.

I'm not even sure you have to be all that fit to make the walk, really. It's only about a mile. If you're OK walking around the park all day, the walk to the YC shouldn't be too much trouble.

We did this in April. If your doing Fantasmic, exit to the right if your looking at the "stage". That brings you closer to exit.

We had a bunch of kids with us who slowed us down so we ended up being the third boat out and waited around 35 minutes.

Walking may be a good idea if you're in a rush to get back. Have fun!

Agree with BuckeyeBama, if your feet are up to it, walking will be the quickest.

Our experience during our stays at the BWI is that the crowds can slow down the loading/unloading of the boats at each of their stops and make the time between boats stretch out.

I agree, but one person in the party with mobility issues makes the walk take much longer.

It can back up. Remember, the boat goes not only to YC, but also to Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin.
I usually ride the boat, and DS and DH walk. They always get back to Boardwalk ahead of me, even if I get on the first boat and don't have to wait for a second (or even third).
