Last year we went to MNSSHP the day before Halloween. It was sold out but the crowds weren't bad at all. We walked on to every ride and found a great seat for the parade 10 minutes before it started. Sometimes the lines for the candy were a little long but that wasn't a big issue for us. Both DDs were more interested in the rides anyway. It was great and would do it again in a heart beat. Have fun!!!
We were there Halloween night four years ago. It was a sold out crowd but I thought it was very nice. We walked on most rides and never had to walk through crowds the way you do in the daytime. It was very nice.
I've done Hallween week and Halloween night twice now.
I thought the last week of October was GREAT for weather and crowds.
I thought Halloween night 'appeared' crowded but we still had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat. It depends on which part of the park you are in at any given time. It could be dead in Frontierland but crowded in Fantasyland. It also depends on whether you go in with a game plan and priorities set. That helps a lot.
The trick or treat lines 'seemed' long but in reality they move very fast. So don't be afraid to go in them.

I like doing things early so I bought them as soon as they went on sale which was the end of April.
Last year Halloween night didn't sell out till the end of September which was a surprise because in the past, it did sell out much earlier then that. I've even seen the tickets (once they were sold out) on ebay going for at least double in the past, but not last year. Not sure why though.
I went to MNNSSHP on Halloween 2 years ago. To my surprise, it was not as crowded as I thought it would be. We went on a lot of rides at night without any lines. Only problem was that my dd (3 1/2) at the time, did not last for the parade. She was out for the count..........and of course we had great viewing of the parade.
