Just wondering. I have the option of that weekend or the 2nd weekend in Nov. I think HHN would be cool but it's not a huge deal not to see it. Plus don't the parks close earlier those nights?

Thanks!!

It would be the weekend of Oct 29, 30, 31. I feel like unless I really want HHN I should go a different weekend. Thoughts?

Ive been to HHN about 8 times. I've never seen a night I wouldn't call crowded. Its all a part of it. Grab some drinks (they have carts positioned in the lines) and enjoy the atmosphere. They do an incredible job every year. I have never been on that weekend but is suspect it is more crowded than usual. I would say its worth it if its something you really want to do

It won't be on the 2nd week of November.......finishes Oct 31st this year..........

Have to say the quietest HHN I ever went to was Halloween night itself........still busy though.

Studios closes at 5 to people not going to horror nights, but IOA stays open longer........have to say HHN is an amazing event not to be missed.........brings us back year after year........

The last half of October is slammed for Horror Nights, Halloween night itself is a Monday, which is typically a non-HHN day the rest of the month, so I suspect Halloween night itself will be not crowded at all (But the 5 days before the 31st may be the most busy of all)

That's when we will be there Last year when we went it wasnt to bad we had the express passes so we were able to do all the houses in 2 days. Dont get me wrong it was crowded but it was manageable and you were able to walk with put getting knocked into. we loved it

So basically if I'm not really interested in HHN go beginning of Nov, if I'm interested in HHN should be a pretty fun atmosphere? I think that's what I'm gathering from everyone.

If you're not interested in HHN wait until November. If you are interested, go and have a blast! I highly recommend getting express passes when you go.

I second the express passes. We went two years ago and loved HHN. We went at the end of September and even then most the haunted house lines were 2-3 hours at some point in the night. If you just want to crowd watch it will be fun. If you want to check out all the haunted houses and such definitely grab the express pass.

normally i agree with everything you post but not sure how crowded hhn will be at the end of the event this year. (exception with the 31st being a lighter crowd)

last year that time period had the cheapest rates of the month for deluxe hotels.
when those prices drop, hhn crowds lighten a tad.

the only time i have seen light crowds has been over opening weekends
first weekend is fri/sat and it closes earlier than other weekends.

once the media leave the front of the park around 10ish, seems a lot less crowded.

each year it changes and it could be we will be hitting a hhn season that stays up in numbers the entire time
hhn popularity has keep growing each season and many more guests are repeats each year.

OP..........Totally agree with EP for horror nights.......

The queues that we walked past using EP surprised us some nights, on so called quieter nights..........

HHN is an amazing event and if you can go you should give it a try........

I know you have to buy a separate ticket for the HHN but do you buy a separate express pass for this as well or does the one that comes with the hotel work?

You buy a separate pass for Hhn

The hotel ep you receive is not valid for Hhn

We are considering the same 2 weekends...Halloween vs. Veterans Day. Does universal have regular evening entertainment that we would miss by the park closing early for hhn? When does universal start their Xmas holiday?

November does not have late nights for the parks

You can go back and pull up last years park hours to ge an idea for closing time
Not aware of any evening entertainment except for the cone show at the lagoon at dusk/ night

Christmas decorations will be up in December

if you try it, it may become a huge deal to you lol A habit many of us share here

i was onsite @ U the first weekend last year into the 2nd week @ WDW. It was very crowded, combo of a race @ WDW (jmho but crowds tend to be higher @ U when WDW has something of that sort going on that messes w/traffic & park hours) and Jersey week.
