How Crowded is DL/DCA on 1 Jan?

Hi everyone,

We are visiting DLR over New Years. Our last day is 1 Jan. How crowded do the parks get on that day? Is it likely to be as crowded at Disneyland as it is 31 Dec?

We are visiting DLR over New Years. Our last day is 1 Jan. How crowded do the parks get on that day? Is it likely to be as crowded at Disneyland as it is 31 Dec?

There really isn't much difference, the party continues into the next day. There's less camping out for fireworks because there's no midnight fireworks, but for every person who stayed up late and sleeps in there's someone else who skipped the 31st and will be waiting at the turnstile bright and early after missing a park day.

I found the first couple of hours on Jan 1 to be rather uncrowded by Christmas holiday standards. But as the day progressed, it became very crowded as APers came to play. There is less camping out in DL for the midnight celebration, but still it is quite busy as the day goes on.

Also, people get APs for their holiday gifts, and many will be going to the parks on Jan 1st to play.
