We have always gone to WDW in January. Crowds then are minimal to non-existant. I went once with my Mom in March, it was extremely crowded. I'm considering a trip in September, so I'm wondering what kind of crowds to expect then. It would be mid-September.

We have gone in late September and the crowds were very low.We stayed at POFQ and never had a full bus or long line. Have fun!

It is definetly still very hot, but the crowds are non-existent. Waits were about 15 minutes for most rides in mid-September, except for the headliners (like Toy Story Mania), until late afternoon. Most eateries and value resorts are crowded because of the free dining promo, but the parks were much less crowded than the other times we've been- March and October. We've been every Sept for the past handful of years, enjoying free dining and low rates for plane fare and rental car. Unfortunately, we're going in Aug this year to avoid taking DD10 out of school.

Thank you both for the replies, just what I wanted to hear! :)

We go in Sept now and really enjoy it. It is still hot but the crowds are lower.
Some of our best trips have been in Sept.
