How crowded are night magic hours

HI, I go to Disney in 9 days!!! I am only going to MK on Wed at 5:00 or so and Epcot the next day. My DH & DD can't take the heat, and I can't take the crowds so I think we will go in the evenings and nights when they have late magic hours from 9-12. Is this a good idea? How crowded are the parks during this time? I woulod think on the Wed & Thurs before Labor Day the parks shoulod be fairly empty.. Agree?? How long are the lines during evening magic hours? Also, what about lines during the fireworks at MK if we dont watch the fireworks or parade??? Thank you, Mindy

We just got back last night. Honestly, I didn't find the EMHs very helpful. The rides that are open are very crowded. Also a warning. . . if your DH & DD don't like the heat, they won't find much relief even after 5pm. I often commented to my DH that I couldn't believe I could sweat so much at 11pm!

I just got back from Disney... The Extra hours of Magic can be helpful at some parks and CRAZY at others. The extra hours at Epcot and Animal Kingdom seemed to go pretty smooth... The extra hours at MGM more crowed. At Magic Kingdom...PACKED!!!! There seemed to be more people in the parks for the extra hours than during the day. Some rides were no wait...Haunted Mansion and It's a small World. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Peter Pan. Well over an hour wait. So it just depends which parks

I'll be there next Wed. Aug. 31 at MK-EMH with you. Despite the people who are saying "don't go" we are going to try them. We are of the same theory as you that it shouldn't be as crowded next week. We've gone that week before and it wasn't crowded.

That being said, our plan is to leave if it is unbearable and say "well, we learned our lesson - listen to our friends at the Dis "

Maybe we'll be next to each other for an hour waiting for Space Mountain

We just came back Aug 13. We went to EMH at Epcot and MK, both were bad IMO. MK was way worse as it was a Friday night and I think alot of local people came since it was open until 2:00am. We did ride Space Mountain twice once on line and other FP. Also did HM and the space orbiters (I think thats what they are called. At Epcot only thing we could get on was Mission:Space, which I dont ride, but the kids love it! We thought we could get on some stuff at MK during the parade and Wishes, boy were we wrong!!! It was worth a shot, but I probably wont do MK again!!
