How crowded are DVC resorts during the Marathon?

Can someone tell how to walk from OKW? Could a person drive the runner from SSR? Are we trying to get to the front entrance of Epcot?

They have a bulletin board and a page for the 2009 marathon with newsletters and information posted. It helped me a lot. I noticed the link is already up for 2010.
A PP asked about runners getting on the bus for the marathon. If I remember correctly, runners had to be on the busses by 4AM to be on time for the start. Busses did run until 5 for those late sleepers, though. Those runners that I saw running from SSR were heading over very close to start time. I think they were probably very familiar with the race and knew just when to get there.

Wow! It is a huge event! I suppose I'm just looking at it as time to spend with the DFamily. Most will be arriving the Wednesday before, so they may get some time to enjoy the parks before hand. Maybe I'll see if we can tack on Tuesday, too. However, since that's the first week of school in the New Year, I wonder if the kids really should miss 4 days.

My husband and his running buddy have walked from OKW a few times. If you request Miller's Road area, you are a bit closer to the start.

When you come out of OKW, take a left towards the light at Bonnet Creek Parkway. Walk over the bridge and then towards the right. The start line is along that roadway (not Bonnet Creek Parkway, but the other one that is just about parallel to it). If you are staying at Millers Road, you can probably walk through the CM parking area.

I dropped him and his buddy, plus two other runners who we found standing near Turtle Creek area waiting for a bus about 4:45AM at the light on Bonnet Creek. Then I drove the long way around Epcot to the Epcot parking lot to park.

We booked OKW studio about 6 1/2 months out. WL for hospitality house and that came through about 2 months out.

We booked a studio at BCV at the 7-month mark for the 2009 marathon weekend and didn't have any problems at all!
