How crazy busy will the Princess 5K be?

I'm running the Half, DH is running the 5K and the 3 kids are signed up for the kids races. Because they changed the time of the kids races, I'm not sure if we can still make the breakfast (which is from 7:15-9 at Epcot). I bought the tickets for it when the kids races were supposed to be at 10 but they got moved to 8:45.

So if the 5K starts at 6:30 and my DH normally does a 5K in about 25 minutes, how crazy packed will it be? Do they do waves or corrals or anything or is it just a free-for-all? Any guesses on when he'd be done so we could get to breakfast?

Also, has anyone tried cancelling stuff like a race breakfast? I know the races are non-refundable, but if they move times on things making it impossible to do all of them now, would they refund the breakfast tickets?

Thanks!

No corrals, just one start. My husband and daughter ran it this year. Took a little longer then normal because most people aren't going for time and walk/ stop quite a bit for characters or pics of Epcot. They said thy had to bob and weave thru lots of people.

It was pretty easy getting on the buses after the race, but yes there is a ton of people.

He just needs to get up with the serious runners and fight for a spot at the start. The course will be slower than expected due to turns int he backstage areas of Epcot. If he starts too far back then add time for the unexpected starts and stops of photo takers.

Thanks! DH isn't a picture taker so maybe if he pushes his way up front, we can still make breakfast in time to get the kids to their starts.

Just as an FYI, they did do corrals for the Happy Haunted and Jingle Jungle 5ks. There were 4 for Happy Haunted, starting 5 minutes apart. As I understand it, that was the first time they had assigned corrals. So that may be something they are starting.
