So, DH and I took a very quick trip to Las Vegas Sun - Tues of this week. It was our first visit there ever. We were delayed getting into LV by 2 1/2 hours because the main runway was being resurfaced. By the time we got there we were tired, hungry and cranky. So we checked in to the hotel (The Venetian) and went downstairs to the Grand Lux Cafe for something to eat. Lo and behold, they had chicken and waffles on the menu. After all the talk here, I had vowed to try it when the opportunity presented itself...this is not food we typically see server together in CA.

It was REALLY good! I would definitely order it again. Strange as the combination sounds I recommend giving it a try.

Sorry, much like Nascar and paintball, I still don't get it....:rotfl2: Just sounds plain ol' gross to me! But like Kevin, I am from NY originally and we just don't do that sort of thing. :lmao:

I'm going to say the exact same thing I said when I first heard about this dish on the podcast.

Um...ew.

Chicken and Waffles was showcased on the Food Network in New York.
There was even a Throwdown episode with a woman from New York.
There are quite a few restaurants that serve this in New York city and other places in the state. Here are a couple.

Do you realize Kevin and I were right across the street in the Mirage?

Only after we got back and I was in chat Wednesday night. I am so disappointed! It would have been so great to pop by and just say hello. We were at the Mirage on Monday at the dolphin and tiger habitat and had lunch at the counter at BLT Burger. Hope you had a great time seeing Bette!

My cousin's 4 year old will eat almost no "real" food. He basically survives on peanut butter crackers and chicken nuggets. Well, today I was at his brother's birthday party and he very proudly told me he had WAFFLES for breakfast.

Then he proceeded to say: NOW I EAT CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. :lmao:

I don't think he got why I started cracking up.

on your next trip to vegas, if you would like the ULTIMATE chicken and waffles, head to the Hash House A Go Go off the strip. Kevin, I would recommend Hash House for the best breakfast ever. It's a favorite hangout of Martha Stewart (not just crazy c n' w fans).
