How competitive are FP+ selections at 60-65 days out?

Our trip is at the end of May, so we're a few weeks away from being able to make our FP+ selections (We're staying on-site at Pop). We've already started making our lists of things we want to do in the parks (This is our first WDW trip as adults, and it's our honeymoon!). We're wondering if the FP+ options are going to get snatched up quickly...do we have a decent chance of getting passes for the best rides, or will they be gone too quickly?

Our tentative outline is:
  • Tuesday: Arrival day, no parks
  • Wednesday: MK (EMH 10pm-12am)
  • Thursday: Rope drop DHS for Rise, Epcot rest of the day
  • Friday: MK again (Villains After Hours 10pm-1am)
  • Saturday: AK (EMH in the morning)
  • Sunday: DHS 9pm-11pm
If the FP+ selections go within a few minutes the way Rise boarding groups do, I'm wondering where to focus my first selections. Do we grab FP for our first MK day since those will be most limited at exactly 60 days out? Or should we grab for our AK day to try for FoP? OR am I overthinking it, and we'll have plenty of time to get FP for our whole visit?

MK will not be an issue. 7DMT is the only hard fp to get, and it can generally be had in the evening at 60 days or 60+1. I would try for FOP first, then do your FP for DHS. Epcot isn't hard either. You should probably be able to get everything you want.

Yes, it’s hard to get FP for the big rides but it’s doable. You have to get on the app on FOPday the second it opens and get the hardest to get ones first and preferably later in your trip. There’s only two of you so if you don’t get what you wAbt keep trying and you’ll probably get them eventually even on the park day.

If you’re wanting T1 rides ar HS, I’d book that first, then FOP, then SDMT. Go back and fill in from there. With a 6 day stay, in that time frame, you should be able to do it, especially if you’re flexible on times. Even if you can’t get the exact time you want, grab the hard to get fp’s and try later to modify them. I wouldn’t be surprised if you have problems with SDMT on that first day, but should get it on your 2nd trip in. We have a 6 night stay starting 3/16 and couldn’t get SDMT our first day after booking the back end first. But we have an a AH’s and will ride then. You’d be able to do the same with your Villains night.

Hi! My FP+ day was a couple weeks ago and I was able to get all the fastpasses I wanted. I'll be going 4/23 - 5/03. I started booking the FP+ from the last day of my trip (and booking the hardest to get first) and I managed to get them all and most of them in the morning except for MMRR that will be at 1 pm as the morning passes were gone.
I would say that if you are online right when your FP+ window opens and you already have in mind what you want, you won't have any issue getting your fastpasses.
Good luck and don't stress too much about it!

You’re overthinking it imo. It’s smart of you to leave DHS and AK at the end because those are the most challenging FP parks at present. FoP is absolutely not hard to get after 60+4. I would book that second and go for your desired HS Tier 1 first. Just make sure you’re online booking at 7am EST and you should have no problems.

If you don’t care about the times that you get those headliner rides, you should be able to get them without much issue. If you want them early, be flexible on which of your DHS days you do your Tier 1s on. So for the first DHS day, grab the earliest available of the tier 1s you want. On the second day, grab the other s since it will be easier.
Also if you want a better shot at an earlier time for the first day 7DMT, have the other adult in your party book that one while you book the others. I did that on my FP day a few days ago (for a little earlier in May). DH grabbed 7DMT while I did the DHS ones. We still didn’t get a morning time but did get it fairly early in the afternoon.

not fast pass related, but I think your park outline should be tweaked. Not the parks so much- but if you do late night EMH or Villains- and get back to your hotel at midnight or 1AM, do you think you will want to be back to AK at 730 for rope drop? Allocating for travel and showers etc- you are giving yourself like 4-5 hours of sleep two of those nights, and disney is very tiring. Now- one night like that can work- if the next day is nothing until lunch or later- but you don't want to ruin your honeymoon....
so for example, the night after you do Villains- I'd plan to go to AK right after lunch, and book FP for like 130, 245, and 400 or something like that, and skip the EMH in the AM
