i won the anaheim hilton priceline for 3 nights. how close is it to DL? pl says it 0.68 miles, is that about 6 blocks? does anyone know if it includes a continental bfast? i thought i read that there is a mcdonalds right outside DL? is it close enough to walk to at lunch time while switching parks? Thanks so much! :yay:

It's about a 15-minute walk with small children. We've done it before when our youngest was 3. We usually walked to DL in the morning. Coming back after a long day at the parks, we either walked or took a taxi back to the hotel, depending on how tired the kids were. The ART is also another option.

You would pass by the MacDonald's as you walk along S. Harbor on your way to the park -- a better option for breakfast. However, IMHO, it is not exactly convenient to leave the parks at lunchtime just to eat at MacD's. There is another option: Whitewater Snacks at the GCH. They offer healthy food in big portions. And it's very inexpensive if you share your orders. Take a look at the menu on www.allears.net. My DDs split a kids pizza because it was so huge.

Hope that helps!

Not sure if there is a continental breakfast offered there but there is a restaurant and Starbucks in the Hilton lobby. :thumbsup2

There's no breakfast offered for free. They have restaurants. This is a more upscale hotel for the area, so everything is extra-parking, internet, etc... We've stayed here, often, though (also won on Priceline) and we like it. You can walk, but its shorter to walk thru the convention center, across Katella and into the Timon parking lot. You can catch the tram there or walk the rest of the way, which isn't too long.

You can walk to the McD's outside the park, but it would be easier to just go to the MD's in DCA. The food in DL is pricey, but they usually give you a lot and we share a lot of meals or get kids meals.

Do you mind if I ask what you paid per night for the Hilton?
And on the walk... if you walk between the hotel and the convention center you can walk to the Disney parking lot and take the tram ride closer to the entrance... It is not a bad walk at all and there is a crosswalk with a signal in the street on Katella...

i dont remember what i put in, but i got it for $177.45 for three nights total...thanks for the tip!

We've stayed there and I quite like the hotel. We walked once and then took the ART back. After that, we just used the ART all the time. It's the first stop on the way back and on the way there too. And... if you miss the ART at the Hilton, you have a chance to catch it at the Mariott across the street.

As somebody said, there's no free breakfast.

What I liked was that after a loooooong day at the park, we would get back to our room kinda hungry. (We would somehow always miss getting dinner there because of having a late lunch.) We ordered room service which was...ohhhh so perfect after a long day of non-stop walking. LOL It didn't cost that much more than eating downstairs in the restaurant. I know this isn't for the budget conscious but it was so gooooooood. :woohoo:

is this ART wheelchair accessible? thanks for the the tip about room service! i am getting so excited! :cool1:

Well, according to their website:

"All ART buses accommodate individuals with disabilities. Additional accommodations for individuals with disabilities may be available through Complementary Paratransit Access service provided by OCTA." (OCTA, I gather, is the Orange County Transportation Authority).

You can buy the ART ticket in the lobby of the Hilton (another convenience). More information about ART is located at http://www.rideart.org/

If I could get two rooms there as cheaply as you did, I'd be staying there in July. Alas, so far we're booked in at the HoJo's.
