How can this be? Today is exactly 180 days out!

OK, just called back this afternoon and got a reservation - and with decent seating times! It was within my +10 days. They only had a choice of 2 days, one of which was 2 tables of 4. I opted for the table of 8. It's for 7:20.

I also booked a bunch of other ADRs while I had her on the phone just so I could have SOMETHING. They did have quite a bit of availability, I assume anyways, since I had quite a choice of seating times.

I guess the trick is to do the +10 days. Thanks DISers for educating me! I could have been this frustrated every morning trying to call and make reservations.

Glad to hear you got something you're happy with.

1) You should call now for the whole trip, since you have 180+10 days.
2) Even with this, it is not hard for popular eateries to have ADR's gone.
3) Remember, at the 180-day mark, you are booking ONLY ONE DAY.
4) Others have already booked through number 179.
5) Thus, there could be MANY people on the line for the day available (#180).
6) In addition, you have resorts and concierge booking rooms before 7:00am.

I ended up with an 8 p.m. ADR at LeCellier for a party of 8 on 11/30. I had planned on trying again and again for an earlier time slot (this is a party with 2 four year olds and a 2 year old and it's going to be hard doing dinner that late) but I took what was offered rather than not eating there at all.

Now I am intriqued by the CP package mentioned here. Is that something that costs additional money and/or can you use DDP with it? TIA

CP package does cost extra, but you can also use DDP with it (at least you could in 2006). However, in order to use 1 TS credit you had to book lunch, I think. You can find out more info from last year on AllEarsNet or here on the site. My notes show last year packages were open for booking on August 16th.

I haven't heard what they're doing this year - I don't think they've released any information for 2007. (But seeing what they did with CRT it wouldn't surprise me if it's all 2 TS credits this year.)

I called last week to book my ADR's for our trip starting 11/26. I got all the times I wanted except for 1. The 1 I didn't get was for 12/2. They only had like a 330pm seating for dinner at Mama Melrose at MGM. The CM told me that I should call back right at the 180 day mark because that is when they open the whole time schedule. Each of the 10 days before the 180 day mark the only open up a partical schedule. Once 180 days hit the whole schedule is released and available to book.

Taking that into consideration and your party size and that it is EPCOT. You might have better luck when they start taking reservations for CP Dinner packages. A party of 8 is pretty good, but I had no issues with my party of 8 for Nov with the exception of that 1 night.

Cancelations happen all the time so I would also continue to call back once a week or once every 2 weeks or so till you get what you want. I don't know about the party of 8 and no tables for that size comment. Normally they'll book you 2 tables and tell you your not guaranteed to have the tables next to each other. Thats what the CM's have told me, both for my party of 8 for this year and party of 7 two years ago.

You can also try showing up earlier than your time. We did that 2 years ago at CM's. We didn't know if we would be seated earlier or not, but if they have the space you could get in earlier than your time.

Why not try to get 2 tables for 4? That may help you out. Just an idea :)

editing to say, I didn't read the last few posts, guess you already straightened things out.

Sounds like you're competing with those who booked 10 days ago and got the day you needed. Plus add that several tables are now being held for the CP. I'm assuming you are booking for December. Just curious, what is your party size? I've never had a problem booking a table for 2 at the 180 mark, but when doing the 180 +10, the availability gets better as I start booking my +10 days. I usually have several days that I will book LeCell, and fill those first, then back fill the rest of the days with other places.
I just called this morning using my 180 + 10 day advantage and got a table for 2 at Le Cellier on Dec 7th at 6:30pm, my first choice. I think being able to call before the 180 day mark is a definite advantage!
I was also able to book Breakfast with Cinderella for the 9th and got a table for 12! I'm so glad I won't have to be dialing at 7 am on the dot to get that one at 180 days out, either.

I had a similiar problem at my 180 + 10. Each time I needed to add an ADR or change something I would inquire again and the further along we got the more that were available. I even had one reservationis/CM infer that they "hold" tables for release later so that people who don't call at 180+10 can still get ADR's. Not sure if this is really true, but it seems to be so in my case. BTW...I was looking for both parties of 5 and/or 7.

The CM told me that for Cinderella's breakfast, they "hold" tables for ADRs. There are only so many released for the 180+10 people and then the rest are released at the 180 day mark. She said 50 tables but I don't know if that was 50 tables booked early, or 50 tables held and released on the 180 day mark.

:

Hopefully they release park hours for December soon. Maybe someone will rearrange their plans when they do and something will open up. Although Epcot's hours don't vary much....

December hours are out now:thumbsup2

DH called at the 180+10 days mark and was able to get all of our ADRs, including Le Cellier for the evenings we wanted them and for the times we wanted within 45 minutes plus or minus. The CM told him Le Cellier is now considered harder to get than Cindy's Breakfast. I still think Le Cellier is worth it to get a delicious meal, every time. I wish more restaurants were so reliable.

There is something seriously wrong with the 180+10 deal. I have not been able to get certain reservations at 180+7 for busy days. I'm always on the phone right when they open, and have never missed out on CRT for breakfast when I wanted to get it because the breakfast always releases their tables right at 180 days. But with this rule, on a holiday, I can't even try to get a reservation until most of the good times are gone at some of the popular locations.

Someone could be arriving 10 days before Christmas, stay for 10 days, and will have a better chance at getting the reservation they want for Christmas day than someone arriving the day before Christmas staying for 30 days. There is no sense of fairness or 'resort perk' in the way the current ADRs are run.

Make it 190 days from the date of the reservation for resort guests, or drop the whole thing. 180 days from the date of first check-in is a very flawed system. Just read all the posts from resort guests who never even had a chance to book at LTT this year for Thanksgiving.

sure... just keep pouring alcohol on that open wound of mine :sad2:
