How can I leave something for a family arriving at SOG after we leave?

My MIL and FIL will be arriving on Aug. 16 at Shades of Green. They are traveling with my BIL's family.
We are checking out of the YC on Aug. 13, so there is a 3 day gap.
If I wanted to leave some things for them at SOG, will I be able to do so? FIL specifically wants to use my WDW mister fan, so I thought I'd buy them one of those and some other little things, since it's their first (and probably only) time.
How does one get to SOG? Is there a bus there from the parks? Will they let me on it if I'm not staying there? We won't have a car.

I don't know if you could leave something for them with a 3 days gap, but you could always call guest services and find out.

To get there, you can get on the SOG bus (you shouldn't have a problem getting on the bus I've never had them ask to see a resort ID or anything like that) from the TTC or you could walk over from the Poly (or get the shady shuttle to meet you halfway).

you can get on the bus, they've never asked for resort id when we've stayed there. I would get the phone # from the SOG site and ask them if they will hold a package for you. I'd box it up to make it easier for them to stick on a shelf.

They have held packages for us before. I sent something ahead of time to be there when we arrived. I would call the hotel ahead of time just to make sure.

Definitely call Shades of Green and ask them. Not to cause a panic or anything and I'm sure people will post that they have left packages and boxes, etc. before with no problems. However....

If I was working at a military establishment and someone came up with a box and asked me to hold it for three days, I would be very concerned. Anything could be in that box. That's why a call to Shades of Green should be made. If they do say it's fine, great. But I still would not seal the box up. Maybe you can put the items into a Disney bag and leave that. They could easily check the contents of the bag and then staple up the bag for safe keeping (much like how packages are sent back to the resorts).

Sorry for being an alarmist but it's a crazy world we live in these days and Shades of Green is a military resort.

To get to Shades of Green, the nicest way is to walk from the Polynesian to the resort. It's about a 10-15 minute walk and the grounds at Shades of Green are very beautiful.

We had mailed our package to them and yes you could tell it had been thoughly checked. They told me on the phone that it would be opened and checked upon arrival.

You're not an alarmist...you're a realist, and I was thinking the same thing about a sealed box. I'm thrilled to hear SOG inspects packages that show up at the resort! :thumbsup2

OP -- I'm sure you won't have any problems. Just hop on the bus and go to the front desk and ask them to hold the goodies for your family. It would probably be helpful if you have their reservation number for the staff to reference.
