I have always always, always, wanted to see Disney at Christmas. A recent thread on the Osborne lights made me say "We should drive down for 3 days":santa:

How much would this trip cost me?

So I did this is April and it wasn't really the budget trip I planned:confused: So just how low do you think I can go. This is what I would need:

1. Rental car-mid-Size
2. I night in South Carolina
3. 2-3 nights in Orlando-Does not have to be disney
4. 3 day park tickets (prefer hoppers) for 3 adults and 1 child (kids are 13, 11 and 6)

I'll also need a hotel on the way home, but can factor that one in later. I know about the tolls and gas, but is there a site that will help me accurately plan those? Also food-I have some Resturant.com certificates and we can eat cheaply outside of Disney if necessary.

Finally, I have AAA, so can i park at the parks for free or is that only for hotel packages through AAA?

Thanks

I believe there were some free dining dates in December. I'd go to the WDW website and see if there's anything still available.

AAA only gives you a designated parking area. You have to book the trip through them to get it and you still pay for parking.

www.undercovertourist.com offers discount tickets. If you go the free dining route though you'd have to book the package through WDW.

If you're going to stay off-site, try priceline or hotwire for hotels.

Cant help you with the first two since I dont know where you would be picking up the car. And Im not familiar with places in south carolina off of 95. For the room get a twenty five percent discount off the disney value room by using code AK9. Then get discount one day tickets by making a donation to the florida childrens hospital. For a seven hundred fifty dollar donation you will get ten one day tickets and a one hundred twenty dollar gift card to planet hollywood. http://www.fhfoundation.com/Disney/page5/page5.htm Tickets cant be upgraded and they are only good until 12/31/11. You will still need to buy a two day pass for the child at disney. Cost would be another one hundred fifty five dollars. Total for tickets without hopping would be around nine hundred dollars for four people for three days. Compared to four three day passes from undercovertourist for around nine hundred thirty dollars. Plus your getting a gift card to pay for a meal or two. But forget about free parking from aaa. Thats perk does not exist. You wont need it if your staying onsite anyway b/c all resort guests get free parking at the parks.
