How can I get the building I want?

We are staying at the CBR in November and I have requested 3 choices for buildings. Do you think they really honor these requests or is there anything else I can do to get the room I want? I really don't want to be far from the food court.

They do try to honor your requests, but the more requests you have, the less likely you are to get what you want. Also, remember that if you've requested a certain building, i.e. Martinique, you may be assigned that room BUT if you check in early it may not be ready. We've experienced this when we stayed at the Polynesian. We requested the Tahiti building and third floor. We got exactly what we requested but we had to wait until almost 4pm to get into our room. And we checked in at 10am. So we waited for what we asked for.

Also, make your request when you initially make the reservation and you can fax the room controller 3-5 days prior to your arrival date and the re-state your request nicely when you check in. But keep in mind it IS only a request....

It doesn't help if you are going this year but starting next year
CBR will have preferred buildings that are located on either side of the food court.

They will cost extra.

If you are not in the building you want, ask if there are rooms available in any of the three buildings. We've been put in a location we didn't want and the CM at check-in was great about showing me the options and letting me decide where I would be happy. One word of advice, make sure they keep the original room locked so it doesn't get given away while you are discussing the move. I've had that happen before.

Even when I don't end up where I THOUGHT I wanted to be, I've always been happy with where we stayed. At CBR, we requested Trinidad North, but ended up in Jamaica (TN was totally booked). I loved it there. The building was close to a resort exit, we had a corner room (two big windows), the ice machine and stairs were right around the corner and it was very quiet. My kids ended up not liking the main pool so the distance wasn't an issue and the walk to OPR was beautiful.
