as u may have seen in my posts earlier...our May trip got yanked away from us.SO we will either do first week in June or September. So I am weighing out pros and cons of each.,,,crowds vs heat vs cheaper hotel rates vs longer or shorter park hours vs more going on(fireworks,,etc) TIA!!! :rockband:

We went in September of 2004. It was just as hot as summer. The week we were there was in the mid 90's and so incredibly humid every day!!!! So, I don't think the weather is going to be that different.

really?oh well...i should know that,I live in NC and it is hot it September...so..ok..weather fatcor is now even stevens,,,,,so I hafta think about crowds,,money and hours now,,,,,for those of u that have been during diff times of the year and or CM's...are the crowds better in Sept vs JUne? if so...I am down to hours and money...TIA!!!

Don't let the hours fool you! Often, when there's lower crowds, the park hours are shorter because it doesn't take as long to "do the parks". When the parks are open late, that's usually because they are expecting large crowds.

(throws herself down in the floor and has a melt down due to mass confusion) tehehhehe........Yeah I know the parks are open later due to larger crowds,,,,so not so much of a real pro and con thing..... I guess since it will be HOT each time.....my real concern is crowds......and lower rates in Septmeber....which means HAVING TO WAIT,,which mean more time to save money,,which means HAVING TO WAIT.........(her head finnlay blows up in flames in the shape of a giant Mickey Mouse)

It seems (through website comparisons. 1st trip still on the way) that the crowds in June/July are a lot larger than September.

If I had the choice, I'd go in September over June every time because of less crowds. But with the wee ones in school now, this isn't an option. The biggest thing to concern yourself with on the weather front is the possibility of hurricanes in September. This past year was unusually severe, but there are always threats of hurricanes and tropical storms in September.

You can still take kids in the fall months. They may miss school but you can usually have the teachers compile the class and home work together before the trip. We will be, and DD10 will do her homework when she has the chance, such as plane trips to and from. And the day we are in Florida. (It will be driving to and from Clearwater for the beaches. 1 1/2 each way.) Plenty of time.

HURRICANES????????????aaghhhhhh,,i did NOT even think of hurricanes............anything else i should take into account? right now....September has a slight edge over June due to cheaper hotel rates and thinner crowds...BUT a huuricane? ?OH no!!!!!!

Don't worry about hurricanes. You have a very low probablility of hitting the time one may strike. last year was just really odd.

I agree ::yes:: . Even though the hours were much shorter last December (2003) than they were this past June, we got much more done in December because almost everything was a walk-on :cool1: .
