How can I find availability?

We have not closed on our contract yet and have a trip planned for June 14 - June 21. How can I find out if there are any studios left during that time. We tried calling member services and they said I needed a member number to check availability. I just want to know if we need to go ahead and book the annual pass dining plan or hold out to use our points for a studio?

Thanks

If you purchased through Disney you could ask your guide to check the availability.

If you purchased through a broker you must wait until you are in the "system" and have your member number.

Since it's less than a month away, I really think it's a long shot to find any DVC studio for those dates, especially if you don't want to move back and forth between resorts.

Even if you could talk to MS today and find out availability for your dates, that's just a snapshot in time. It could (and probably will) change before you are able to actually reserve. When do you close? It will take at least a week after that for you to get into the system. I'm assuming you purchased via resale, since those who purchase from Disney can make reservations as soon as Disney receives their deposit.

My advice is to plan on using a CRO/WDWTC cash reservation for the June trip.

What does that abbreviation stand for?

We have been waiting to close for a couple of weeks. We sent our closing documents in on the 15th. We are just waiting on the seller.

so by the sounds of it you are buying resale?

It will still be a few weeks before you are in the system.

It takes a bit to get into the system once you've closed, and if you haven't closed yet, my guess is that you will not be able to use your points for this trip. Well, maybe you have a week, but still I wouldn't want to bet that you could get a reservation without having to move once or twice. I would stay with the cash reservation if you can.

I don't know exactly...but CRO is the Central Reservations for WDW.

What does that abbreviation stand for?

CRO -Central Reservations Office
WDWTC - Walt Disney World Travel Company

These are the office you speak with for regular WDW Cash Reservations. In reality, they are the same office, but room only reservations, AP reservations, etc., normally are referred to as CRO reservations and inclusive package reservations are referred to as WDWTC reservations.
