how can I clean the dust from

one of those box fans? I tried vacuuming it - but it did nothing - I hate to turn it back on for the fear of it blowing dust everywhere - yet I can't get the dust off when I want to...

Any ideas?

Isn't the front screen held on by screws? Take out the screws, the front screen will come off, then you can wash the screen and blades with soapy water.

If it's a one piece unit and the front absolutely won't come off, do you know anyone with an air compressor? You can blow all the dust off with one of those I would think.

mine all have screws and the panels come off. I do this couple times a month here in the summer since the dust is so bad...

Yup, just take the screws out. I saw Kim and Aggie do it on that show "How Clean is Your House?".
