Going to go to Universal for a day with pals...We are staying off-site. (not doing IOA)

Will it be doable in one day? Should we use the touring plan at the end of the Unofficial Guide to WDW? Will we see everything? What are the usual hours for that day? Should we go on the 20th instead?

Never have been to Universal and we are 6 adults, NO kids(except our DH's)...

How much spending money should we each bring...I like to shop.:p Where could we get a GOOD counter service meal at the park? How much does it cost?

I know that I have a ton of Questions...but thanks for any help.

It will be right before the holiday so it may be alittle busier than usual. You may want to purchase express passes for FOTL access.

We love to shop too!!!! And there are so many wonderful trinkets to buy, so bring as much or as little as you want to spend.

Hours change, so check the official website, but it will probably be 9-7 or later. www.universalorlando.com

A great place to have lunch would be Monster's Cafe, Cafe La Bamba or Louie's.

Cafe La Bamba has meals which include chicken/ribs, rice, corn and vegetables for about $10.

Louie's is all italian. The pizza and caesar salad combo runs about $6 and is very tasty.

Monster's Cafe has salads, soups, pizzas, and wraps.

The only place I would NOT recommend is the International Food Baazar. It gets awful reviews.

Have fun!

You can buy front of the line passes? How much?

They sell the Universal express pass if you are not staying on site. You can still get them for free like at Disney, but the machines usually run out early and IMO, it can be a hassle. Depending on when you go, the pass can run you anywhere from $10-25. It gives you a one time FOTL access on all the major attractions.

That's great...I did not know you could do that. Thanks for the advice:D
