How busy will it be 15-19 December?

We are going for our next trip during Sunday 15th and Thursday 19th December, and was wondering does anyone know how busy it is likely to be? I have been told by someone that a week before half term can be quite empty but the closer it approaches to the final day of term (which will be 20th) it can get busier.

We went during October half term and it was absolutely horrendous, so i'm quite worried! Anyone been during this time that can give me insight?

We went Fri 16/12/11 to Tues 20/12/11, so a couple of years ago. Fri/ Sat/ Sun were fine - nice and quiet. Monday got a little busier, but Tuesday was manic. I think people tend to go for Christmas, and were arriving Mon & Tues, but just before then was fine.
